Bristol City sign Wolves striker Sam Vokes on loan
Sam Vokes
Vokes has 16 international caps for Wales

Bristol City have signed Wales international striker Sam Vokes from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a five-month loan.

The 20-year-old will go straight into the squad for the match against Millwall after injuries to Nicky Maynard and Danny Haynes.

\"Sam's been a player who's been a thorn in the side of my old team Reading over the years,\" said boss Steve Coppell

\"He's always looked a handful that's a good criteria.\"

Vokes signed for Wolves in 2008 on a four-year deal from Bournemouth.

He has made 41 league appearances in that time and found the net on six occasions.

The Hampshire-born forward also had a loan spell at Leeds last season where he made eight starts scoring his only goal against City's local rivals Bristol Rovers.

Another team with a HUGE budget, where does all this money come from? Bristol City....promotion: Sh*t or bust? Are they the next Leeds or dare I say it Portsmouth?

Their chairman is worth £300m, is a Bristol City fan and very ambitious so I'm not surprised that they are trying to build a team to challenge for promotion. Vokes should be an okay signing for them although I think this will have affected our chances of getting Keogh (if there were any chance to start with). I can't see Wolves letting another striker go because they only have four left.
