I see there's still no word from Rovers about this via their official channels. Very odd indeed.

You're right of course Nath but you could add more schemes to that list such as the 125 Club. The problem is that we'll still be talking about crap marketing in five years time because the same people will be in charge.

I've spoken to JR and asked that the marketing mob to sort it as soon as.....its daft the way they have gone about it.....Should be on DROS later - but dont blame Uttley  - its not his area /he was nt involved!
Hopefully it might encourage a few folk to buy ST's - we need a few more sales!

Any word as to why this has been rolled out now, when it is too late to have any effect?

It sounds like there is no communication between different departments and the club is suffering as a result.

JR tells me they have had loads of probs with finance companies not having the funds / backing of banks to enable them to offer finance deals like this. Only just got Zebra back on board a week / 10 days ago.....Bless those poor city bankers - makes you weep for em eh ?

Sorry to post this (and I will probably get a backlash for it), however here goes:

[ul]
[/ul]The staff at DRFC do not give a sh*t about the VSC

If they did there would be a story about the VSC AGM on the O/S and furthermore there would be something encouraging new fans to join. JR has always said the club belonged to the fans yet in the past few seasons things have changed, no longer is our opinion valid, no longer is our opinion welcome. My brother did a song on youtube before the Leeds playoff game....cracking effort just a bit of fun, to add to the excitement of the biggest game in our recent history, what happened? a DRFC employee sent him a message telling him not to use DRFC photos...they are copyright. Fans ask about different marketing methods to attract season ticket holders...bring a mate. The young lad that has been doing the videos on youtube, not welcome by DRFC, Gartom has done a lot of work with regards to helping attract potential season ticket holders ling in the current economic climate, yet he was treated like a mushroom.

Edit: Just seen the update from Gartom, which is greatthat JR still talks to us via him, but what about the rest of the staff at the club?

It really is a joke that its not been publicised straight away on the official site, lets face it how long would it have taken compared to getting the leaflets printed/distributed 10 minutes to get somesthing basic up compared to a few days.

However it still smacks of unless its our idea you can get lost.
It also strikes me that some depts/people at the club seem to resent the vsc

It's not the VSC per se. It's all about certain employees' comfort zones and the defending of them from outside influences.

Would a simpler solution be to offer a 1st half season ticket as well as a 2nd half one? No installments you pay for your book of tickets in one go, no finance necessary unless you choose to buy on your own credit card. DRFC get the money up front and you the supporter have a ticket for a seat for the first 11/12 home games. if you want to keep your seat you buy your 2nd half season ticket for the remaining games. The cost would reflect a saving on the cost of individual match tickets but would also reflect a small premium against the cost of buying a full season ticket.
People keep saying budget and save the money for a full season ticket but it can become difficult for some people not to put that £400 or part of it to use on soemthing else and you end up without the amount required at the time you require it. If I were to say to my missus that I was spending £400 on a football season ticket it wouldn't go down too well but for some reason , perhaps female logic, saying I was spending £200 would go down a lot better even if I had to say it again around Christmas time  :P

Maybe JR can give some answers this weekend at the AGM. I wish I could attend.

I know it's not on the DROS yet but I do wonder how long it would have been before it appeared on DROS if Gartom hadn't gone directly to JR about this issue.

New Idea > Implementation Plan agreed with relevant stakeholders > Managed delivery > Review > Learn lessons

But what do I know...

There we go.
No good for those who have already bought tickets though is it. I may have considered it, but have purchased tickets for a few games already.http://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10329~2119821,00.html

A work of genius is that.

\"A Sharp way of paying for your season ticket?\" You're not wrong there Rovers. It's very painful. Is Billy endorsing this himself?

I like the way it says that the application could take three working days which would be after the first match anyway.  :S

My brain hurts and I need a lie down.

The thing is, hardly anyone will sign up to this scheme at such a late stage now anyway, which will probably mean DRFC will bin it for not being succesful.

Bang on! Too many folk stealing wages sat in the comfort zone, arses need kicking, and if they don't like it tell em to piss off and find employment elsewhere. There' rovers fans out there that would give thier right arm to work for the Club!

If people within the club, and it starts with JR, had the foresight then we would ALL be working for the club.

The whole purpose of having supporters club, especially with a fans director, is to bring the fans and the club closer together and to exchange views and strive to achieve the same goals.

We have an army of people who, if put to task, could market our club much better what we've experienced over the last 3 years or so.

JR in conjunction with Gareth, perhaps Len South and other 'trusted' representatives of the fans, with our feedback, should be able to come up with a pricing policy for each season in good time to put a marketing plan in to action.

The problem we have is our views may be heard, but quite simply we are not being listened to and the 'club' think they know better.

Now who within the club is responsible for this 'break' in communication? Where does the buck stop ? Something or someone has to change.

You can still purchase a ST after those games have passed for the season from them, isn't it usually reduced at a per game rate after a couple of games?

..or get a refund from the ticket office for the games you have already bought.

But as someone has pointed out it takes at least three days for it to be processed, after which the first game has already passed.

The fact they have launched this two days before the first home game is nothing but a farce. I can't imagine many taking advantage of it at this stage.

I also don't have the time to fart about returning match tickets and getting refunds. I'll stay as I am and go to the games I want to go to. If this had been introduced a few weeks ago, it might have been a different story.

Let's face it. It's been ill thought out and planned (not).

It's turned out to be a token 'gesture' and again fans feel rightly short changed. Those who have bought season tickets already and could have really done with a bit of help for the club. Those who would still like to take advantage will be paying though the nose for the privalage.

If the club really cared about it's fans and want to appeal to get more people through the door, scrap it completely and go down the road of the 'Blackpool' offers. See earlier in thread.

Let folk pay by standing order. If the club distrusts fans thinking they will stop the payments, ask for a deposit first.

Use a straight forward calculation and pro-rata the cost based on how many games left.

However, the ultimate concession the club could make, is to being all prices down and make attending the Keepmoat more affordable for ALL.

Did anyone read the last paragraph?

\"Our partnership with Zebra Finance has only been planned to run up until the end of August, so act now if you still wish to purchase your Season Ticket.\"

So they announce it two days before the first home game, even though applications take 3 working days, and you only have 2 weeks to apply.

I wonder if it is just a ploy from DRFC to say they did offer the installment option and then for them to turn round and say it didn't work and we told you so?

Surely its in DRFCs interest to sell season tickets anyway they can?

Is there any wonder.
Didn't Dave Morris point blank lie and say we have never shared the North Stand with away fans and that it can't be done?

So .... take it to the meeting, stand up and say something along the lines of:

\"This has gone for 2010/11, but can we seriously look to have communication and information & potential providers in place for January 2011 so that we can get this out to the people of the Doncaster area to enable them to make a proper decision regarding Season Tickets 2011/2012 for our 1st Season ever in the Premiership\" .......

OK, perhaps the last bit is a bit over the top, but the rest is ok (ish)

I agree I hope Gareth and others will be able to get JR s ear and at least agree to discuss these important issues at a separate meeting.

We should not write this season off however. More can be done to get more fans back to the Keepmoat but we need to work together to achieve it.

Just to clarify Dave's response about the North Stand, he said the inbuilt partitioning had never been used, whereupon I referred to the Crewe JPT semi. He still denied it had, but wished it had been as it would provide him with a precedent to use in his discussions with the Police, who he said were objecting to it being used in that way.
