Adam Le Fondre, Is it worth a punt?
« on August 23, 2010, 01:32:44 pm by macca_the_rover »
After watching Rotherham against Cheltenham on Saturday i was very impressed with Adam Le Fondres performance. He has great movement, pace, strength and a good finish. However i think he is similar to Sharp in some ways, is this a good thing or a bad thing if they played together? Im not sure...
Also you could argue that he is shining because he is playing at leaugue 2 level and he isnt an established championship player but i think he could make the step up, other players have jumped from non league to league 1 or the championship before. He would fit into our style of play as he likes to get the ball at his feet and play a pass but sometimes he likes to run at defences and he terrorised cheltenham. However i think he is wasted at times at Rotherham as they dont always get the ball to his feet and there were too many misplaced passes and misplaced long balls to him, at Doncaster he would be getting more quality balls.

Rumours are that Derby may be in for him.

I'd like to see us sign him, he doesn't live far away and he clearly has the knack for scoring goals. Could he replicate it at this level? Only one way to find out.

Can't see us going for him but I'd like to see us try.

Don't have the £3 mill they want for him (although they'll never get that!!!), could wait until he's available on a free though.

i couldn't see him wanting to come here anyway if im honest, wherever he goes he's going to want first team football?

could we offer him that? he wouldn't replace billy in the starting 11, and SO'D isn't going to all of a sudden move to a 442...
