Whites agree McCormack fee

Leeds United have confirmed they have agreed a fee with Cardiff City for Scotland international Ross McCormack.

Skysports.com confirmed on Monday the 24-year-old was set to hold talks with Leeds, reports the club have now confirmed.

McCormack made an immediate impact at Cardiff in his debut season, scoring 21 league goals in the 2008/09 campaign.

He bagged four Championship goals last term, although more of his appearances came as a substitute.

Following the arrival of Craig Bellamy, City have now allowed McCormack to hold transfer talks at Elland Road.

Leeds will complete the signing of the Scotland international subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

The Whites have made a decent start to life in the Championship after taking four points from their opening three league games.

Luciano Becchio has been leading the line with Billy Paynter injured and Max Gradel suspended, although Davide Somma bagged a brace off the bench in their 3-1 weekend win over Millwall.


Why have we not attempted to sign him, would be a fantastic addition to our squad. Another quality player in Leeds's ranks!!

They can have him as far as I'm concerned, he reminds me of Lewis Guy.

Have to say you two need to lay off the old 'ale, the lad is Quality and has tremendous technique as well as an eye for a goal (remember Hartlepool away with the 35yd free kick???)
His Cardiff days were numbered when he got charged with Drink Driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
If he does sign for Leeds (although Hull are talking with him aswell) then he will add something extra to their team make no mistakes about that.
