Capacity Increase: How Much?
« on October 24, 2010, 07:18:06 pm by Standanista »
A couple of big ifs here, but, just supposing we did make the Prem and managed to stick around a while, what are we looking at to increase capacity at the KMS to, say, 25,000?

After the floating roof debacle, I presume our only remaining option is to build a freestanding structure flush with the current one?

Hopefully there are a few on here like BST who can advise.

I don't think we'd increase it all to be honest.

No. Dave Morris would insist on STs at £45 a match. Cash up front please !!

maybe 5,000 during close season take us up to 20,000 but no more i wouldn't think no point in having a silly big stadium that we cant fill in championship (oh wait)   ;)

The folk of this town are seriously letting their home club down. The quality of footy that we are now used to playing should be bringing back at least some of the plastics and 'diehards' that used to come to OBV ; fact is it isn't and it isn't all about ticket pricing because we don't fill the KM at £10 matches.
Stop using ticketing policy as the only excuse for low gates, fact is folk will pay for premium products but they do need to know that they exist in the first place.
I'm not trying to be negative but please fellas put your expansion plans to one side as current attendances make the whole idea embarrassing to even contemplate.
Market the friggin club properly would be a start!!

Just to clarify: when I asked the question I was thinking how much in terms of £££££ to extend the KMS to (say) 25,000.

But as the above posters raise: would we look to extend at all?  And if so, what would be a realistic capacity, given presumed increases in both home and away support?

if rovers get into the prem would it be possible for KMS to be for
home fans only, or do the away team have to have a allocation by the rules.

i can see that day comming in football where you have home fans only in attendence
which in turn would cut down running matchday costs to the police if owt.

If that day comes Oslo, the game will be truly dead and buried.

That would never happen. Can you honestly see that happening?

It already has. I think (though I may have the names wrong) Luton Town, Millwall and Plymouth have all had matches where all away support was banned.

Wasn't too popular like, but they all still went ahead and did it. 10 years or so ago?
