SOD hinted this on Saturday when saying it may be similar to Hayter's injury.  That's about 7/8 games then.

Let's get that there hernia operated on while he's out. Such a shame that he's going to face a couple of months off after just hitting form but if he comes back 100% fit he could be just what we need to kick on for the run-in after Christmas.

I agree, he may end up coming back even better if we kill two birds with one stone. devestating news for us and himself but it may well be a blessing in disguise...

Oh dear, that's a problem

Get Fairhurst back sharpish, this could be a great opportunity for him.

We might as well kill three birds - all SOD needs to do is name Billy as a sub against Reading (he can sit there with his crutches), wait for the ball to go out of play near the bench, get the ball to Billy and then tell him not to let go of it. He'll get booked for withholding the ball. 5 bookings, one match ban. Clean slate for his return. Job done.

We need a striker to complete the work load and link up play Billy does. I wouldn't be overly bothered if he wasn't as prolific as Billy. For that folks, I give you James Hayter.

Fairhurst might have to come back as cover for Hayts, but I'm not sure he can physically take the Billy or Hayter role. A loan signing would be ideal, unless we have Brooker coming back imminently to share the workload with Hayter.

Well it has to be an opportunity too.  Now we need to give that opportunity to the likes of Brooker and Hayter.
