Who is publicizing the Keepmoat 'Big Bang' event?
« on October 29, 2010, 11:54:38 am by Yargo »
Have to say they are doing a fantastic job,you cant move round town without getting a face full of their posters. I was in Goldthorpe two weeks ago and virtually every shop window had a poster in advertising it,there are also loads of posters all the way up Balby Road so i suspect there is heavy coverage around other parts ive not been to. Imagine if the reduced ticket offer for the two games was publicized in the same way by people at the club? Its been shown it can be done!

They can publicise it as much as they like....I'll take the kids to the FREE firework / bonfire display at the Local Pub.

I have to agree the SMC have become even greedier this year. It's been a free event for the last few years and i've enjoyed taking my girls down to watch the fireworks and have a few rides. Why the SMC have decided to charge I have no idea. To police this they'll surely have to put fencing around the prerimeter and stewards/security patrolling it to make sure no one sneaks in free. How much more money would be saved without these measures? I doubt i'll be going now and my girls will be disappointed as they were looking forward to the fair.

Greedy, greedy, greedy!

I couldn't give a shit about the event or any costs involved or any comparison with any other such event,i was just drawing attention to the fact something is happening at the Keepmoat and it has hit maximum publicity, shame there is no one employed at the club that can achieve the same coverage advertising the reduced ticket prices for our next two home games.......clear enough?

Could DRFC afford to advertise on the same level 23 times a season? This \"big bang\" event happens only once a year.

If they advertised once a year it would be a start.

this is the thing, we don't know how much advertising this way costs (unless somebody on here is in the know?)....but obviously whether we can \"afford\" it or not would be decided by how successful it is. surely it would be worth the risk for a couple of matches to try and see if it puts many bums on seats...

Printing a load of posters and one of the advertising crew getting of there back sides and driving to goldthorpe and asking shopkeppers to put a poster up isnt that taxing or expensive is it. idolaitos is suspected sometimes.

£2 to get in and you get the £2 back with 4 x 50p Fun Fair vouchers free. And if your kids are under 1m tall they get in for free anyway. Not exactly daylight robbery is it ?

When I saw the title of the thread I was beginning to get worried.  A Large Hadron Collider on the outskirts of Donny is just asking for trouble in my book.  One mistake and Bessacarr and Rosso would be condensed to the size of a pinhead.

On second thoughts.....

Well i started this thread hoping to get shot down by someone telling me what plans were being made and it would soon be clear what great moves were being made to publicise the reduced ticket offers. There isn't even a poster in the front window of the ticket office

Who said owt about Daylight Robbery?? (Though it would be interesting to know how much the Funfair Rides / Food / drinks/ commemorative Programme / Magnets / Flashing light thingys / Mouse mats / any other merchandise they can think of, costs).

I just prefer to take my kids to the local organised event in the local community.

If you prefer to do that, why highlight the word free by typing it in capitals?

So if a ride on one of the rides costs £1, use the vouchers and then don't go on anything else. Spending money on food etc is optional, it's not compulsary. Or are you suggesting that the display at your local is completely gratis, ie; free bar and food ?

In effect, you can still have a free night out at a display that, probably, you won't get close to at the back of your local.
