Seriously my dad GRHS said football will be ruined when they remove the maximum wage (way way back for the under 30's)

He was right and the game has now been \"lost\" to the original target audience of the working classes and the Gates reflect that with most Clubs

The Clubs have of course become businesses and Manure paying Shrek 250 k a year is unsustainable - prepare for a hike in prices there too !

Ironically AFC built the Emirates to attract bigger gates and boost their Revenue so you would expect they would have been \"happy\" to jump from dates of 37000 to whatever they get now and be happy nut NO - they still need the loot

Thoughts?

Nationalisation the industry so we are playing on an even playing field (pardon the pun).Shares to be allocated to the fans to be run through consortiums

Cap wages so these costs are not passed on to the fans

Fans to strike by boycotting matches like the scotch refs

Amputate Shrecks legs and make him work at KFC if he does not comply

Have a revolution and elect Ian Holloway as supreme commander of the universe with SOD as his intergalactic deputy

Remember which paper we're looking at here. Not exactly a reliable source. But yeah, agree with all thoughts. Good football (Championship much better, in my opinion, mind) but at what price?
