Regarding the award a fantastic accolade for James who is one of the most hardworking players we've ever had plus he scores magnificent goals notably headers, he's the finest header of a ball I've ever seen in a Rovers shirt the lad has no fear, he gets knocked about because of his lack of size doesn't complain gets up again & has another go he is tremendous. A fantastic example of how far you can get when you apply yourself correctly. Well done Haytes you deserve every ounce of your success because you put in 100% every game
What's amazing is he's one of the few who has the appearance of a Sunday league player. He has that awkward gait when he runs, as you say he's not blessed with amazing pace, he's not blessed with amazing skills, he's no flash harry, in fact dare I say his appearance is scruffy. However, he has got the heart of a lion and is equally as brave with a positional sense that not many footballers are blessed with. He must be so fit as he just keeps going. Powered by Duracel !!I remember Neil Roberts who worked his socks off for the benefit of the team but his goal return was quite poor.Hayter is a manager's dream !!
I know I shouldn't, and we should enjoy the moment, but one cannot help but recall all the shit he's had on here about 'he works hard means diddly shit', 'what does he actually give the team', 'he has no pace and will never be a striker', 'get rid' blah blah.....a lot of that came last season in the early parts,....I recall it was at it's worse after Boro away.Well done Hayter, a player who's game has come on and grasped Championship football very easily.
