He's not bad is he?

I'll be interested to see what happens now that Healy has extended his loan. There is no way that we've done that for him to sit on the bench, and I'd be amazed if Sharp is warming the bench. Is it midfield for Hayter I wonder?

I think it'll be Sharp, Healy and Hayter up front then Copps dropping back into midfield. I don't know who'd be dropped though!

Regarding the award a fantastic accolade for James who is one of the most hardworking players we've ever had plus he scores magnificent goals notably headers, he's the finest header of a ball I've ever seen in a Rovers shirt the lad has no fear, he gets knocked about because of his lack of size doesn't complain gets up again & has another go he is tremendous.  A fantastic example of how far you can get when you apply yourself correctly.  Well done Haytes you deserve every ounce of your success because you put in 100% every game

It's about time Hayts got some recognition for his performances here. He's been working his socks off and contributing massively to the team ever since he walked through the door. Now he's getting the goals to match it and therefore is getting the praise he deserves.

Does any more thought go into this reward other than giving it to the person thats scored the most goals in the month? Sorry to be negative like, well done Hayts.

Chuffed to bits for him.

An award like that is fantastic for any DRFC player in this league.

Fantastic news. Richly deserved and I hope he can carry on on Saturday with a trademark header in to the corner.

Richly deserved, a player who doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Up there with Sir Francis for me and steadily becoming one of the best players we have ever had.

Well done James, now celebrate in style by beating your Bournemouth hatrick on Saturday :woot:

I know I shouldn't, and we should enjoy the moment, but one cannot help but recall all the shit he's had on here about 'he works hard means diddly shit', 'what does he actually give the team', 'he has no pace and will never be a striker', 'get rid' blah blah.....a lot of that came last season in the early parts,....I recall it was at it's worse after Boro away.

Well done Hayter, a player who's game has come on and grasped Championship football very easily.

What's amazing is he's one of the few who has the appearance of a Sunday league player. He has that awkward gait when he runs, as you say he's not blessed with amazing pace, he's not blessed with amazing skills, he's no flash harry, in fact dare I say his appearance is scruffy.

However, he has got the heart of a lion and is equally as brave with a positional sense that not many footballers are blessed with. He must be so fit as he just keeps going. Powered by Duracel !!

I remember Neil Roberts who worked his socks off for the benefit of the team but his goal return was quite poor.

Hayter is a manager's dream !!

I personally think Hayter is a very skilful player, some of his touches and lay-offs are sublime.

It just shows the potential of James Hayter, he has been used as a midfielder for so long, when played up front he always dropped back into midfield and would not be in the same sort of position as Billy takes up. Give him an instruction to be up there all the time and he scores for fun! A great player, I am proud to have his photo on my wall, the one where he is running round at Wembley after scoring THAT goal. Well done James!  :scarf:

Can't disagree with any of the positive comments above, James has been one of my favourite players since arriving here. He is brave, unselfish, incredibly hard working with excellent awareness, (Wembley goal a good example, never moved, seemed to know exactly where the ball was going to be) and will always take a bullet for the team.
Congratulations James, richly deserved.

Well, I might as well add my three penny worth - well done James and its well deserved. The biggest unsung hero we've ever had IMO. Coming to the twilight years of his career but still managing to attain a level of professionalism and skill level required of this league. Must be one of the hardest workers in the squad - not the fastest, not the most skillful and not the hardest tackler but a consumate professional and a consistant performer. He always puts in a shift and a half for the team.

Great to see James getting the recognition his performances deserve.

Totally agree, a no nonsense player who goes about his job without the melodrama associated with a lot of the so called star players of the division. It almost restores my faith in football.
If only FIFA delegates were half as honest.
