According to JR there is a strong possibility the Ipswich game will be off if weather conditions don't improve.

I can't see the game going ahead unless there is a drastic temperature switch.

Does anyone know what the chances are on boxing day? Going to get my tickets tomorrow!

Snowing at the minute in Derby but it isn't enough to prevent the game being on, I would say 100% on for Boxing Day.

The game is almost a week away yet!

I could say 'The Leicester game in April is in doubt, if the weather doesn't improve'. Just as meaningless.

Spoke to ROK yesterday as he was in our shop buying a guitar for his daughter, and he said Boxing Day would be OK as he said \"we\" were there Sat. and the pitch is fine.
He did say that the Ipswich game could be a doubt as the covers went on after the 'boro game and the pitch was frozen then, so if conditions don't improve it's a doubt.

Put it this way, there isn't any snow forcast for the Derby area between now and Sunday, temperatures in Derby have not been as low as they have in Doncaster and they have managed to play all their games at Pride Park so far even when Forest had to call off a game on the same day.

It would take a blizzard of biblical proportions for the game to be called off, I'm in Derby now (work here) and the chances of that happening are zero.

Surely with the game being a week away they can do what they have to do to get the match on? No more significant snowfall planned, yes it's cold but get some heaters hired in and thaw the pitch out!!

The forcast between now and Tuesday is for significantly higher temps than we have had, even though they are around freezing. Fully agree that the game should go ahead, it was much colder for Middlesboro, get the heaters in.

While selfishly i'd like the games after Boxing Day off cos i'm away skiing i've just checked metcheck and it would seem they're now forecasting the thaw to start on the 27th and it to be about 7 or 8 degrees for the afternoon of the 28th. If that's the case then you should all have a game to watch, bugger!

Looking at it from the playing side, do we want the game to be on? What is it, 4 games in 9 days? with a small squad that's already depleted.

Injuries to:

JOC
Muzzy
Chambers
Friend
Souza? - limped off v Boro
Martis? - limped off v Boro
Gillet
Woods

Brooker? - not even on bench for Boro game
Whaley? - what happened to him?

Another rush of games is going to have serious consequences on players that are having to be continually used as there's no ready replacement available.

Is there a rule whereby we have to leave the covers on?

If for instance, it would suit us (injury-wise) to not play the Ipswich game, then could we just leave the pitch to the natural conditions?

If there is snow though, best use a white ball.
Ipswich mullered Leicester with the coloured one  ;)

Please tell me that you took the opportunity to ask where Sean would be at the end of January.

Sorry chaps, didn't ask the question as I didn't want to put him in an embarassing position with other people around, also he was in the shop as a customer, so I also thought it inappropriate to quiz him about it whilst shopping. Now if I'd have met him in the pub, I'd have been straight in. ;)
His daughter is at uni and he is replacing the starter guitar she is learning on, so she knows about it.

Given our injury crisis, I wouldn't mind if the Ipswich game gets called off either! Then again, we don't want too many games to get called off because of the terrible weather. It could potentially lead to a big fixture backlog and there is already 7 games in April as it is, anymore and it will be a nightmare.

Only if his daughter was once called John  ;)

Did you not see him flat on his back behind the dugout on Friday night after slipping on the ice. Took him a few seconds to check he was in one piece before he tried to get up. Get a claim in Richard.
