Christmas not cancelled.....
« on December 21, 2010, 07:55:18 pm by PDX_Rover »
The world still turns, Barnsley is still the arse end of the Universe and I, for one, am not losing any sleep over this Sheffield United b*llocks.

It's a fact of life that success breeds envy and we have an excellent management team in SO'D and RO'K. If they do go to the Blades then I think they'd be stupid, and both men are very astute.  And if they do go, we move on.... Nothing in life is permanent... I would be sad to see those two move on, but such is football.

Let's all calm down and let the chips fall as they may.

Hooray for Mark. A voice of calm in a sea of knee jerk b*llocks.

I couldn't agree more , this whole 'non-debate' is getting tedious. Thread after thread all along the same lines, mods could you please bring them under 1 not 21 threads!
Merry Christmas everybody.  :)

Great post.

I also find it quite amusing how the tables have turned, and the fact that SHEFF UTD would like to nick DONCASTER ROVERs manager! Who'd of thought that 10 years ago?  :P

Seas of knee jerk b*llocks..... That'll be all ferries cancelled then.  Choppy waters at the very least.

As far as I can tell this is a win-win situation.

If he does go to Sheff Utd (bearing in mind the lack of funds, lumpen playing staff and utterly unrealistic demands and expectations of the fans) then he's two blades short of a penknife and shouldn't be in charge of this club anyway.

If he stays (which I hope he does) then we carry on safe in the knowledge that the demand for him means we're doing something right.

Bear one thing in mind though, no seemingly pivotal person who's left this club since we started the rise has gone on to demonstrably bigger and better things:

Watson
McIndoe
Penney
Mills
Wellens
Green
etc
etc

The momentum's with the club, rather than any individual.

Surely not! to hear them talk every player they`ve got is individually better than ours, they would be taking a backward step signing all our players!

TOP TOP POST!
As much as I'd hate to see SO'D go - everyone should bear Vaya's point in mind!

Harsh on Green, I'd say a move to Derby and an international call up is going onto bigger and better things, and arguably Wellens and Mills too.

I also enjoyed the comment from a Blade \" Blades skint??? .. but not as skint as Donny surely\"
That shows they are also incapable of accepting the realities of the relative debts of the two clubs!

Not a dig at Greeny (who's to say if he'd stopped he wouldn't have got a call-up? - Stock has) or Wellens/Mills, but neither Derby, Leicester or Reading have run away from us in the League this or any other season.

No. But they're all a damn sight bigger clubs than Rovers, higher profile, bigger crowds, more money and better long term prospects. Good upward moves for each of them I reckon.

Undeniably Bob, but in terms of Rovers' own momentum these departures haven't been the tipping point that at the time they might have seemed.
