Lowest in the Championship today by some margin as well.
The attendance reflected the performance, crap, to be honest though, our merketing scheme is wonk, whoever is in charge of promoting Donny Rovers should be ashamed, how much is it for a full page advert int free press? I'm sure Rovers could afford it, no ad's on trax, no ads on official site, no e-mails till a couple er days before, no flyers, nothing! just not good enough!
Why use adverts and marketing? Why not use a good PR campaign to gain support for an event. Lets face it, given all the stick that football clubs get, any good PR is welcome for most clubs. Also, adverts cost money and are mainly ineffective. An article (PR story) in the Free Press from Doncaster Rovers that promotes the club would be more effective as people would get to read about it fully, as opposed to a bog standard quarter-page advert with only a few words on it. If anyone can be bothered, have a look on Google and search for \"Dagenham against racism\". Not only did that PR campaign promote a specific message (that the club is against racism), but it also brought them a lot of good publicity within their local community. The fact they lowered prices for a game just helped to bring the crowds in to support the event as well. Another reason this was popular for Dagenham was because they are in an area where the BNP is popular. And we all know what the general consensus is of the BNP...Oh, and one last thing. Dagenham & Redbridge didn't have to spend a penny on adverts too! All their success came from an effective PR campaign. But of course, I know nothing do I!
