Off the ball 2 footed assault?
« on February 12, 2011, 10:59:45 pm by cdrover »
The incident that the officials failed to see in the first 5 minutes on Billy where he was kicked in the ribs by both feet of a Portsmouth player    ? I want to know other fans opinions and views on this incident as I personally thought that if it was seen by the Ref then surely it had to be a straight red card?
Also if it has not been picked up on then can the replays be sent off to the FA to be reviewed and further action taken?

What's the point , earlier complaints re. officials from the club have already ''stuffed'' us . We will get even less shrift from these tw**s.
Seems opposing teams are now at liberty to kick us around the park wherever and whenever we play.

Unfortunately I didn't see it as I was following the ball. Probably the same reason the ref didn't, although clealry all four officials missed it.

That should have signalled to the referee that he needed to keep a lid on the game. Unfortunately he didn't and Cotterill's thugs were allowed to bully us throughout.

That incident showed what Cotterill`s team talk was, make sure you hit them1 that`s one of our problems, we`re too nice! there was one moment when Killgallon was running over to intercept a ball near the west stand, he always looked favourite to get there, at the time I shouted go on, ball and man, he would have got away with it, but instead he just toe poked it out. if it was an opposition player there would have been no doubt that our player would have been taken out!

Don't get me wrong. I despise Cotterill and the side that he put out yesterday.

But some of the comments on this and other threads are embarrassing. You're sounding like the little kid running home and saying, \"Mam. The big kids kicked me every time I tried playing football and I couldn't show them how good I am and it's not fair.\"

Christ, football is a physical game. If you want to play a skilful game, you have to physically earn the right to do so. What do you expect the opponents to do? Say \"No, after YOU Mr Stock/Oster/Coppinger. Let me sit back and be delighted by your extravagant football skills.\"

Yes Portsmouth were ugly. Yes they niggled. Yes it was unpleasant to watch as a spectacle. But (barring that Sharp incident which I did not see) there was barely a challenge worthy if a booking from them. Webster committed a foul as bad as anything they did. The difference was that they were going in hard from the off, in every position, and we couldn't cope.

Come on lads. Man up. If we had done the same to them, you'd be drooling over how we had found a spine of steel. It's part of the game. They did it well and won the match as a result.  And this embarrassing moaning makes you sound like a bunch of Southern Jessies.

One of the biggest problems we have is we are not big enough or physical enough as a team.
SOD admitted this at the end of last season and said he would be looking to do something about it....................We are still waiting.
