next few games
« on February 12, 2011, 08:51:23 pm by mikeward »
looking at the matches over the next few weeks ie

ispwich h
norwich a
swansea a
watford h
derby   a
leeds   a

on the performances /form of the games against barsnley /reading and today does anyone agree it  only looks like the derby game where we could expect to pick up any points as the other games are against teams that are chasing promotion/or are much improved of late ?
at the minute the good thing isd that we are ten points or so above the bottom three or four places  but this could easily change should any of them win 2 or 3 games out of their next 6 ?

Hard to tell.  If we get a couple of the injured players back (did I spot Joe Mills at half time?) then all bets are off, IMO.

The beauty of football is that not every game goes with form or the bookies odds, and if it did we'd all be thousands of quids up every weekend.

Cool your jets, lads and lasses, and lets get behind the team on Tuesday.  In the words of Suggs, tomorrow's just another day.

Fact still remains we only need somewhere between 12 and 16 points to be safe. OK, if we play as badly as we did today, we won't get them, but there are 17 games to go. A point a game might be relegation form over a season, but from now on in it would be good enough.

Mills was on the bench and might well have got on but for the need for more attacking options. I can see him being involved on Tuesday.

Call me stupid, but I really reckon we should give Friend a crack on the wing. He looked decent when he stuck around there against (I think it was these) Barnsley, and although he did well yesterday, a fit Millsy will always get the LB spot for me.

I've seen people talking about putting Friend on the wing on here before, I really can't see it myself. One thing Friend definitely doesn't have is pace, so that leaves his skills/trickery to beat full backs, has he got that in his locker? He can whip a good ball in the box given enough time, but who have we got to get on the end of it? Brooker?  :S

I wasn't having a dig at Brookers performances, more that we only seem to be able to play him about 3 games a season!

Yeah, but he has to get game time to get fit.
