Changes for next season??
« on April 18, 2011, 02:14:40 pm by Shawndrfc »
I am being an optimist and I do believe that we will stay up this season, however i feel that at the end of this season a clearout is needed. We have too many players who arent good enough and we have a few journey men in our ranks due to our injury problems. I could easily see 9 or 10 players from our squad being gone without any arguments which is very worrying. We need to bring in players in defence, midfield and a striker, also i feel we will bring a keeper to fill in for Sully.

All in all, i feel that at the end of this season, abit of money will need to be spent as we are lacking quality in areas, and the teams coming up, for example Huddersfield and Southapton, would have money to spend on players, hopefully the board see that and they do give SOD a reasonable budget to bring in players.

Thought..?

We could really do with some good players coming through the youth academy.

We had a reasonable budget but Sean blew it all on prostitutes and media training.

2 words could be used to descibe this season - INJURIES and DISTRACTIONS

If next season, someone comes in for SOD he needs to settle it straight away instead of all the confusing mixed messages lasting weeks. If that means he goes, he goes. Im not blaming this alone, but this along with injuries this could been seen by some as when the dip in form started. It was a massive turning point in our season, we were looking good at that point. The SOD lovers will point to the fact he is 'honest' and 'did nothing wrong' - I dont think he helped matters during that period myself.

We need to look at fitness, its not just injuries its the tiring in 2nd halfs etc.

Pricing structure needs to change along with marketing. We shouldnt be needing the amount of offers we have given out to get the crowds. Right or wrong, it pisses the existing season ticket holders off if nothing else.

We need more striking options. Dont send strikers out on loan when we havent got many to start with.

If we are going to sign loan players we need to be sure they are a) good enough and b) they are what we need (Kilgallon, Euell, Mason)...We cant afford to bring these pllayers in to sit on the bench. Frankly our loan/short term signings this season have been shocking on the whole (admittedly maybe due to £££ restrictions when trying to replace injuries).

I think we are going to survive but also think we will be very lucky to do so. If the season was 2 or 3 games longer, I wouldnt like to think where we would end up but we need to learn from this seasons mistakes.

Keep your eye on him - he was saying in his post match interview on Saturday that he wants to go to the Moon, but without the training it aint going to happen. If he starts jetting off for \"scouting missions\" in Brevard County next season we'll know something is amiss.

He also mentioned becoming the manager of Real Madrid. You really have to question his commitment to the club after comments like that. ;)

A couple of directors with a few quid to invest would be handy!

Martin Scorsese would be useful in the boardroom! Even if it was to make a few players agents an offer they couldn't refuse!!!
