Without wishing to come over all sub-Freudian, I wonder if we're seeing a bit of transposed anger in some of these posts. In most cases, if a team had gone through the sort of run we've had, then the manager, or the players, or most likely both, would have been the subject of the most fearful slanging, both on internet forums and (most crucially) at matches. This has not happened. Yes, there has been a bit of booing, a good deal of moaning and people voting with their feet by leaving games early. But not the kind of venom you'd have heard directed at say, Bramall Lane, over the last few months. Then the club comes up with a wheeze to fill the ground for a crucial game. I think there are aspects of it that are questionable, but on balance it is probably a decent idea. Certainly it doesn't deserve the vitriol to which it has been subjected in some quarters. I think the rage we're seeing is really the frustration of several months of poor football and even worse results spilling over. And for all the talk about full houses and atmospheres, I don't think that particular boil will be lanced until the team comes out, puts in a performance and makes sure of our Championship status. Roll on Friday!

\"Let us, at this point, not forget nearly 1500 travelling from London, paying £25+ a time. Credit to them. I know if the boot was on the other foot and the home fans were getting in for free I'd be fuming\".
STH speaking here, so in the words of every Wednesdayite and Blunt in the BBC dee-dah land it would be \"a grumble, Seth.\"I'm afraid, I think JR has cocked up on this one a tad. Yes he's dipped his hand in his pocket to fund the deficit of 7,000 x £0.00.However, he's not the only one. If it wasn't for myself, relatives, friends who'd stumped up a lot of hard cash when asked, before the season started then its doubtful this outlandish yet well intended gesture would be on offer.Let us, at this point, not forget nearly 1500 travelling from London, paying £25+ a time. Credit to them. I know if the boot was on the other foot and the home fans were getting in for free I'd be fuming.Anyway back to the STH's. How does JR expect to hold on to them? In all frankness, the numbers of season tickets sold is likely to decrease when the farces of £5 every other game or freebies are available, or would some still rather pay £500 to watch (POTENTIALLY) League 1 football?Great gesture some call it and thats fine. I'm not jealous, despite how it sounds - i get all i want and need from my ST. However, a nominal fee would have not irked me so much.
Another point of view ?Would JR have got more bang from his buck by using this money to have brought in a quality centre half at the beginning of the season on loan (even if it had been just an initial loan till xmas)and not wasting money on half a team of makeweights?Would we now be in this position ?The majority of posters on here wanted the club to do a deal with Shackell, would that extra 5k a week now not be seen as money well spent.

You have to multiply that through a number of the other players (Copps, Stocky, Billy etc) who then want a raise, or hold firm and face a morale issue in the dressing room and the potential effect on performances. It's a difficult one.

How many free games per season have you ever had? Or anyone else? That's possibly the biggest crock of shite I've read for ages. And yes, He/they is the one who has funded this, not you! Rovers already have your money FFS! Grow some.

Grow some. This is the point mate, as a season ticket holder I get no free games, not even the cups where we send out the youth team.If this all backfires on Ryan, which it may well unfortunately do then are these plastics going to come back? And should the unthinkable happen, and we be relegated, who's Ryan going to turn to for money? Mugs like me and thee who he's just sh*t on!
