I agree with Vaya's sentiments in that I don't want to get in the way of anyones soapbox here, but can we all agree that the t**t on the tannoy needs to be free transferred to MK Dons and get someone from a non-ice hockey or local radio background in next season?

Would love someone who used the tannoy like Ken used to at Belle Vue.  While we're at it can we play The Cars \"Drive\" and Human Leagues \"Electric Dreams\".  Cant understand why they havent been played for ages :)

It was nice to hear New Order's \"True Faith\" being played, albeit over half an hour before kick off.

Let's hope next season they scrap this so-called \"live lounge\" feature before ko and at half time. The ones they played yesterday weren't too bad, but most are acoustic dirges that could send an insomniac to sleep. Replace it with some Motorhead!

I'll throw my two pennies worth into the 'on the pitch' debate, i can understand there may be a few times when going onto the pitch after a game has finished that can deem acceptable (i.e) Southend, Man City, Aston Villa because of the result and everyone gets carried away with the resul. I do think that going onto the pitch does spoil it for the rest of the fans that don't, anyone remember the conference play off final at Stoke? i was pissed off after that game as a lot of fans ran onto the pitch and spoiled the pre-plan celebrations to parade the trophy infront of all the rovers fans in the stand, because there were fans on the pitch they couldn't do that, can everyone remember the rovers fans chanting 'Off the pitch' to the fans who were on the pitch?
Going back to yesterday, fans were warned several times not to go onto the pitch and i'm glad that nearly all the fans obeyed this order as it was nice to see the players walking around the edge of the pitch seeing all the fans showing their appreciation for them, also with fans not going on the pitch, the young children who idolise some players can actually see them, if fans were on the pitch their view would be restricted, i can't understand why the so called fans who were warned not to go on the pitch went on as their were no players on the pitch, they looked like dicks.

And to end my topic, we were told several times not to go on the pitch because IMO there could have been a potential flare up between our set of fans and Leicester fans as they have a big hooligan element, and it only takes one idiot to goad the other and then it kicks off.

There you go Frosty a quick google.

Stop being a bloody idiot

I wonder though, was this something to do with the fact that they virtually attacked the Villa fans as well? I don't believe we were ever fined for invading our pitch (someone correct me if I'm wrong) because I can't remember us ever going after the opposition fans in the ground.

The main point is the FA can do it and they will if the mood takes them, I wonder if Mr Deadman ran down the tunnel so quickly so that he didn't see anything that he might have had to include in his report!..............like fans on the pitch ;)

Did we get fined after the Southend game? Or after the Man City game? Or After the Villa game? I've never known a violent pitch invasion at DRFC, they have always been good natured. The club even organised a pitch invasion after we won the title in 2004.

\"The FA held an enquiry and left the threat of a heavy fine and points deduction of points hanging over the club at the first hint of any further infractions...\" After Stoke, page 144 Fall and Rise of Doncaster Rovers

Chester in the home leg of the play offs. If I remember correctly, someone actually got into the away terrace.

It would be quite funny though if everyone on the pitch after the Southend game would have been banned. Our average attendance would be about 4000.

Or maybe Frosty is sick of taking abuse for having an opinion and has given up on replying to the thread?  I suppose it's fine for him to be called a \"knob\" but I dare say if he was to lay into one of the happy clappers there'd be uproar.  I don't always agree with him and he is a touch too negative for my taste, but this board has already become sanitized beyond belief and he's one of the few on here that is at least interesting and thought provoking, even if it's just because he makes me want to chuck my keyboard at the screen at his posts!

I dread to think what some of you would do if we got another Richardson... probably stay seated and not be negative!

Another post from Rios that is spot on.

Everytime MrFrost posts, someone is there to make a quick dig at him, even if his views are perfectly valid and represent what most of us are thinking. People see the username and dismiss what is said before they have even taken a moment to consider it. He can't win either way - damned if he posts, damned if he doesn't... Anyone think that perhaps he goes to sleep, or has a life outside the magical thing called the internet (crazy suggestion I know)!

I wonder how many of the happy clappers have heard of Richardson. Someone was questioning who Blundell was a few weeks ago.

I went on the pitch a fair few times at Belle Vue (for obvious reasons) and even in the \"sanitised\" modern world of football I'd still say in certain circumstances that theres a time and place where it wouldn't be out of order.

Don't see the point of it yesterday though, especially seeing as the club had asked not to so the players could do a walk round. Thats what grated me at Stoke, not the original invasion but the pointless 3 or 4 after that stopped the players doing a proper lap of honour.

For anyone that got banned I suppose you run that risk, sometimes you get caught sometimes you won't. Anyone that went on yesterday probably should have had a look round and realised there wasn't safety in numbers so therefore a much easier target for security/stewards - its not like there was an element of spontaniety to it all so doubt anyone could claim they got caught up in the emotion of a once in a lifetime event (like perhaps at Stoke).

Had loads gone on I would've done so, but you'd have to be a bit thick to go on to the pitch when there's only about 20 or so others.

I've an hours drive home after a game so a pitch invasion would have deprived me of showing my appreciation to the lads at the end of a long hard season.
I can't remember a pitch invasion at all before Alick scored the first goal on his return. I've been to many games where the result or atmosphere was more electric than Saturday's which wasn't followed by a pitch invasion.
It has now become tradition for the team to do a lap of honour with some players carrying or walking with their young children, this certainly couldn't take place amongst a crowd on the pitch.
Also let's not forget any of our disabled supporters that are unable to leave their seats and are only able to applaud as the team goes round.
The only time that I have gone onto the pitch was after the Colchester game when we lost our league status. I went on because we didn't even know whether or not we would have a ground or a team the next season.
Like any gesture or demonstration the more often it is repeated for spurious reasons the more it dilutes the original.
Ps I won't be invading at the Riverside either with or without warnings not to.:scarf:

I have been on the pitch only twice in my knowledge. They were:-

1.) The Southend game (I'm afraid the atmosphere, result and the emotion got the better of me!).

And

2.) (This was a while ago!!) the macmillan trophy final. (as you can expect, I was much much younger!)

These days it would take a huge acheivment for me to go onto the pitch.

.... But aparently I'm a grumpy, miserable old Bstrd so that might explain things!!!  :(
