Coppinger happy to stay at Rovers
« on June 22, 2011, 02:51:15 pm by AzzA424 »
After returning from the Inca Trek, Copps has announced that he is happy to stay at Doncaster, following a chat with John Ryan, in light of the interest from Ipswich.

This is reassuring to hear among what Ryan said a couple of weeks back as he was player of the year for me; apologies if this has already been posted.

Great news. I heard from a guy who spoke to his dad at Boro away (his dad's a Boro fan yet sat in our end ) and he said that Copps would stay as long as JR and SO'D wanted him here, and he was willing to retire here.

On a side note, how is it a lost village when we know where it is? Never got that.

lol good point, thats also good to hear; I'd like to see Copps retire here based on his history and record with the club - he's also an honest footballer and genuine bloke, which is hard to come by in football these days. My grandad had plenty of respect for Copps and that's saying something!

Maybe she'll do a press conference saying how DRI is the only 'ossy she's ever wanted to work at and her proposed transfer to Ipswich was all media hype following the mis-translation of an interview she gave in Gazetta del Medicale

Four more reasonable seasons and he'll be in contention for the all time appearance record. Only 4 more games and he'll have clocked up more than Alick.

I'd love to see him top 417. He's been instrumental to our recent success, and truly has grown with the club. In fact I'd go as far as to say he was the embodiment of the modern Doncaster Rovers.
