Kasper Schmeichel - Sold without knowing it???

From His Twittter Account

On Monday 20th June 2011, @kpschmeichel1 said:

I am putting out this statement now, but let me be clear that I have not signed with any other club, and as far as I am concerned I am still a Leeds United player.

Statement.
At the end of the season Leeds United and I both made a commitment to honour the last year of my contract and try to win promotion with Leeds United.
Therefore it is with great disappointment that I have learned that Leeds United have accepted an offer from Leicester.
I want to put on record that I have never asked to leave the Leeds United, nor did I reject an offer for a new contract, since one was never put to me.
I was enjoying being a Leeds United player and was looking forward to winning promotion this season with the club.
I have spoken to the manager Simon Grayson and he has made it clear to me, that, in spite of having played well for him, this is something he believes is a good deal for Leeds United.
I have been put in a very difficult situation and will spend some time considering my options for my future.

Is Mr Bates upto his old tricks, signed KS for Free and selling him for £1.6M, wonder who they have lined up as his replacement maybe John Lukic?? Again goes to show how certain chairman work, or how they dont work in this case.

The Leeds fans I speak to reckon Jason Brown has been offered a contract as replacement. As for KS they say he's overrated and acts the Billy Big b*llocks in training and around Leeds plus he's the son of a Man Utd legend so they can't wait for him to leave ( fickle?)

...slightly off topic

I just saw a tutorial about Twitter which said each Tweet has a maximum of 140 words - has that rule been relaxed ?

No, it hasnt.  There are services such as Twitlonger which carry the additional text.  The tweet contains a link to the post on Twitlonger.

No, his actual message reads:

\"I am putting out this statement now, but let me be clear that I have not signed with any other club, and as far (cont) http://tl.gd/b84off\"

The link at the end takes you to another website with the full text on.

I like the 140 character rule for the normal 'tweet' it forces you to be more precise.

As for KS, LUFC and LCFC, I couldn't give a flying fcuk!

Agreed, Steve.  I do, however, find the stories linking them to Bowyer, Smith and Woodgate hilarious though!  Its like Dads Army!

£1.6 is a good deal for Leicester...surprised Cardiff aren't in for him considering they had Bywater in goal for the playoffs. KS was worth at least 10 points to Leeds last year and they'll be a lot worse off without him

Then again aren't Cardiff broke this month. They'll have to wait until July when they find £3 million somewhere. It seems like thats how their accounting system works

Leeds United claim that he was given a two-year contract upon signing last summer and when they held talks with him about extending it this summer, Schmeichel and his agent started playing difficult.

I'd be more inclined to believe LUFC's version of events because Schmeichel is now joining Leicester and linking up again with Sven. His agent has probably engineered the whole thing.

Haven't Leeds been interested in Westwood for a while? On the GK topic, where did this 'done deal' that so many claimed go with us and Joe Murphy. Nothing's been said on that for a while.

Well lets face it, two words that can never be said in relation to Bates have to be Leeds and honour.. From all I have read about the man he doesn't know the meaning of the word.

They always seem to be linked with the old boys for a reason that isn't wholly apparent..
