According to DFP's Paul Goodwin on Twitter, Rovers are talking to Chambers about a pay-as-you-play deal for next season. Good deal for the club if he signs IMO. An extra body in the squad, but we're not paying him for all the time he's going to spend injured.

Thoughts?

The best deal for the club, i can't see him rejecting it.

He may take his chances elsewhere once fit. Unless there is some improved contract agreement once he has proved his fitness.

Would imagine he is on somekind of retainer fee while getting back to fitness if we are wanting to keep him.

Can't see him accepting a pay as you play deal to be fair and i don't blame him,a sensible move by the club but if we are serious about keeping him i think we will have to come back with another offer.

I would imagine the pay as you play wage would be around 6k a week at a guess as when he is fully fit he is a first team regular but i don't see why he wouldn't walk onto a league 1 club and get paid a normal 4/5k a week wage which would be financially better for James i would think as he does seem to be getting a lot of injuries recently.

I wouldn't be too gutted if he left but ideally i would keep him.
