Qu0teMy concern is there is an undertone in the message from JR everytime he goes on radio and I interpret it as this.\"X is signing/staying despite ST sales being crap and Rovers fans should consider themselves very lucky. If you're not careful and don't buy more season tickets, we're not going to be able to keep this up\"Here we go again Unhappy as can beSame old lyrics And Storrrry. We had 8000 ST holders in the first year, John what money did you spend apart from £300,000 in improving the team. Yes wages.Second year we lost or they went two very good players and we replace them with good loanees and John Oster Season tickets dropped to 6,000 but prices went up.Third year we signed Billy alot of also rans, two potentially good players and the loaness were really no better than what we had.ST were more expensiveSo far this pre-season, we are relying on Billy saying NO and so far a player with potential and one may be over the hill. ST are more expensive.JR what do you expect the football year on year has got worst the calibre of player apart from Billy has not improved and yet year on year we are asked to pay more for ST.We have Lost 4,000 in three years with the strategy adopted by the board. So lets hope we can keep Billy and had some better players and maybe support will rally.
Fcuk me that was underwhelming...
Quote from: \"RedJ\" post=164743Fcuk me that was underwhelming... I've been waiting for your reaction all day RJ. When I heard it this morning and the anti-climax of the news sunk in, I was just imagining you at work throughout the day thinking\"ooooh, I wonder what the news is\" and working yourself into a excited, euphoric state.ONLY to get home and realise YOU TOO were already 'In the know'!!... I'm just glad I heard it as early as possible, I couldn't be doing with my overactive imagination playing havoc throughout my day!!
I am nor on twitter OR facebook. But it just shows that SOME who said they were ITK about it clearly weren't, cos surely SOMEONE could've (at the least) give us a clue to THAT!!Still... At least we didn't re-sign Souza on a 3 year deal!!!
I was still in a dream, but thought I'd woken up and had turned the radio on and Seth was eagerly announcing our transfer activity: all the squad had been sold off and we'd brought in a complete new First XI. First two in were Souza and Guy on 5 year deals, but then the alarm went off.Did anybody else have the same nightmare and who else was in the rest of the squad? (Obviously in Benaldo's we'd have kept Hird!)

I don't even see this as good news. Obviously in the short term, it's great that Billy has turned down a move to Saints, but doesn't the fact that we'll accept £3m just alert other clubs to what we'll accept? Billy probably doesn't want to move to Saints due to the location (if we're being honest) so if a local-ish club wants him now, they know what they'll have to pay. We're pretty much stuck at £3m now.
