Tranmere Game
« on July 18, 2011, 01:18:03 pm by Wellred »
I know we are selling tickets for this game in blocks starting in the West stand but can someone tell me is it unreserved seating or do you have to sit in your allocated seat?

From what I can gather tickets are being sold with an allocated seat and season ticket holders will not be able to sit in their own seats.

Can anyone confirm this?

There was a guy buying a few tickets next to me in the ticket office this morning and the woman was saying that it's only the East and West stand and they're selling tickets from the middle block of the stand and working outwards.

So I assume it'll be allocated seating as she said the middle block in the west stand had been sold out.

Season tickets are for league games only, not cup games??

Would look a bit silly them holding all the season ticket holders seats just in case they decide to turn up when there will be a fair few (me included) who decide not to attend for whatever reason.

You could just wait until your block goes on sale then ask for your seat, couldn't you?

Are tickets on sale now?
How much are they for concessions and adults?

Yes they are on sale george.
I don't see why it's a big deal not been able to sit in your season ticket seat. It's one game.

Season ticket holders have the use of their seat for all games including cup games provided they purchase their ticket within a specified time.
Apparently season ticket holders didn't have the option of getting their own seat for this game.
Oh well it will save me a few quid.

Ah, right. It would've made more sense to have sold them in the way they do away tickets - a week for STHs to buy and then just sell it block by block for general sale. I'm guessing they did it the way they did so they don't have to have more stewards than they need, probably not opening the end blocks if not needed. (may be stating the obvious there :chair: )

season ticket holders also get discounted price for tranmere tickets.  think its £10 adult full price and £7 for ST holders

I really don't see the issue of not being able to sit in your seat for this game. What they're doing IMO is a decent idea. Theres no point selling tickets for any seat because as usual it'll be a shit attendence so the place would look empty with people scattered about. Atleast here the crowd will be all together in the 2 stands and maybe could force a bit of an atmosphere and make it look a bit full.

Do you go to the Rovers with your mates who you have sat with for years?
Well if you book individually you wont be sitting together will you?
The club pissed season ticket holders off last season with some not renewing this season.
We haven't even got to the first home league game and here we go they still cannot get things right.
What was to stop the club announcing we will be only selling seats in the west and east stands so if you have got a season ticket in those stands then you have 2 days to get your seat before they go on open sale?
Nobody at DRFC ever thinks things through properly.
Championship club on the field. Conference club off it.

So by bunching a few thousand people together in two stands is going to make the ground look A BIT FULL is it?
Some people on here really do have shit for brains.

It's ONE game against a lower league club where the Attendence will be about 2,500...Get over it. You'll more than likely be able to sit where you like anyway.

It'll look better than having 3,000 people scattered around 3 stands where there's about 2 people on each row. Stop crying about one game. If it was a league game I could see your point but it's a nothing game.

My point is it is yet another cock up by DRFC
So if we draw a non league club at home in the 3rd round of the FA cup why don't we do the same thing again?

So by allowing season ticket holders in the west stand to buy their tickets first and two days later open them to the rest of the fans and still only opening that stand how does that cost any more money?

Ok yeah, I did think you were talking about not opening the South for a minute then...But I still can't see the massive issue over ONE pretty meaningless game. You'll more than likely be able to sit in your own seat anyway, can't see it being that full.

It isn't a massive issue over ONE pretty meaningless game. It is the constant piss taking of season ticket holders by non thinking numpties at DRFC.

I suppose it doesn't really matter anyway as why would I want to go and watch Tranmere turn over a second eleven put out by SOD? Remember Accy Stanley, Notts County?

Yes if they are prepared to sit somewhere else.
Great sales idea by the club.
Get your name put on your seat for £12.50.............Oh but you wont be able to sit in it for the first home game.

It's intriguing to wonder who's decision it was.  The stadium would pick up matchday costs so I'd assume it's them, are they then failing to provide the service they're paid for?
