To be fair to him, he played 45 minutes against mansfield. Hardly enough time to judge. He might not have looked that good in that game but worth another look.

I guess it's not a bad idea to have some depth. Also can't he play left back as well?

There's a lot of people on here who are never happy! But as we know, if he has impressed SOD then he could be a 'real gem'

I hope Paul Keegan doesn't leave though :(

He had a good few years at blades, i'd welcome him, maybe a 6 month deal? See how he adapts, If he's good enough sign him on.

You know when some players just remind you of a previous signing?

I get the feeling this could be another Stuart Elliott.

He was pretty cack from where i was sat Perk, but not nearly as cack as Keegan whenever he pulled on a Rovers shirt. I'm very much in the camp hoping that he does get shipped out sharpish!

To be fair, I'd happier that it looks like we're bringing in free transfers from Ipswich, Burnley and Preston than in the past, when the freebies have come from sides like Southampton Reserves, the middle east and Potters Bar Town. It shows that our focus has somewhat switched, which is definitely a good thing. I don't think a 6 month deal for Quinn could harm us, it would cost relatively little and he may surprise a few people.

Note: I'm not criticising Dumbuya at all here, his past just enforces my point. He was undoubtedly an excellent find but I doubt you'd procure too many players of his calibre from that level of the game.

It does not matter where they come from, it's if they are good enough!

He was dire against Mansfield but was that because he was trying too hard? or was that the best what we can expect from him? Given a choice between him and McDonald? from Burnley I'm afraid i would have to disagree with SOD on this one,

Couldn't agree more Raven, i thought he was awful down here too and couldn't believe it when i heard that he'd impressed the management, what on earth were they looking at?!

A big no from me, didn't play last season cos of an iffy groin which is unlikely to improve too much when he's 32.

I do remember the Blades fans I talked to raving about him a while back. If he's any good now though is another matter. A short-term deal couldn't hurt to see if he fits in with us.

I think Kilgallon's main problem for us was that he didn't give a toss. No question regarding his talent but he never looked interested.
