First 3 games under Saunders

And 4 midfielders score. Im not 1 thats going to slag SOD but this is proof that we have players that can score goals if we set out to win the game. Im absolutely delighted for Deano and the lads fantastic result and bring on Weeds! :rtid:

It just goes to show that Deanos philosophy of getting midfielders into the box is working. For me there is a point even more important than that though, and that is in 2 out of 3 games we have been a goal down and NOT LOST. Usually we're used to thinking if we go a goal down we're screwed, but now we've seeing something in the team we aren't used to....fight, willingness to keep pushing and to win.

The points you just made were my problems with SOD there was just no resiliance although some of the football we played was fantastic to watch for me that will always be his downfall unless he has a Man City budget. Saunders has done exactly what was needed and that is putting some belief into talented players. Long may it continue :)

The only difference for me is substitutions that change the game.

Billy invigorating the crowd, plus the excellent Lalkovic v Palace
Billy again pulling defenders around v Hull
Bennett, a couple of minutes on the pitch and scores the winner v Peterboro

Couldnt get there today, so not seen how we played, but I saw enough in the first 2 games of the DS reign to know we are still a footballing team at heart, but arent afraid to go long if thats what is required.

Well truthfully rob it sounded like we were shocking in the first half, and grew into the game as it went on, pretty much exactly the same as the first 2 games. But it's nice to have a manager who is willing to make the changes necessary early on in a game, and so far it's working, and he obviously seems very capable of reading a game and spotting the problem areas on the fly.

Completely agree RobTheRover its good to have Parkin up there as he brings what we have been missing since Brown got injured. I dont know what to think about SOD and DS as they are so different! DS substitutions have been top quality and its good to see that he doesn't wait for things to happen he just does it.

I still think there's room in the team for Mason to drive us forward from midfield plus, he showed at the end of last season his defensive game came on well.

Not sure on the evidence over last few games Oster is providing the guile and endeavour we need from him. I'm sure anyone who went today may put me right on that one.

I thought it intriguing that DS said he had been already tempted to push GF into midfield cos of his 'athleticism'... enter Chimbonda exit Oster from midfield?

Right now, I think we still need GF at the back. No problem, giving him a try in midfield at some point though.

I'd like to see Woods, Stock, Mason Copps at some point.

I tend to agree DBR but would you really want a keeper in midfield. ;)
