All this talk of Willie McKay over the last couple of days has whipped up a fervour of paranoia, conspiracy theory and talk of agents doing dead letter drops of managerial portfolios into the exhaust pipe of JR's Bentley.

And why do you think this is mate?

Because in the absence of any actual hard evidence, it's human nature for normally rational human beings to invent theories that blame events on some plot or conspiracy, rather than put them down to a far more likely but ultimately dull explanation (like 19 consecutive league games without a win).
