Time for a few home truths...
« on October 07, 2011, 01:39:06 pm by johnnykicksass »
Anybody have John Ryan's phone number?

I'd like to call and offer him a piece of my mind. As somebody who was born in Doncaster and went to a couple of games in the 70's, one in the 80's, a few Rugby League games in the 90's and watched the Rovers on TV in the naughties, I'm clearly a passionate stakeholder in the Rovers. I'd like to speak to Mr Ryan and let him know he ought to be calling and speaking to me directly ahead of any decision he makes regards the Mighty Reds. How dare he go spending money here, there and everywhere, signing players willy-nilly and expect me to be happy? How can an emotional stakeholder like myself (educated to the highest possible level at Balby Carr till i was 15) be ignored when it comes to football matters. I was thinking of going to another Rovers game in the next couple of years but I probably won't now. Somebody down the pub told me that Ian Snodin doesn't even play for the Rovers anymore WFT   How can that be, how could John Ryan allow MY club to suffer like that and sell the best player we've ever had..!!? How are the Rovers supposed to get promoted to the Premiership without Snod's? ...clearly John Ryan doesn't know what he's doing and he needs to think about speaking to his loyal supporters like me before he makes anymore mistakes and messes things up...

...when i speak to Mr Ryan I will insist he refunds my bus fare from 1986 when i took a trip to town with the express intention of seeing the Rovers but it started raining so i didn't bother. I still have the 2p ticket, so there should be no excuses. I'll also insist he gives me a free ticket for the Leeds game as reward for my unwavering loyalty. How much more am I supposed to give to the club without getting anything back??

If none of that works, if he doesn't answer his phone, if he says no to me, then I'm off to watch Barnsley again... SOD the Rovers...

Are you sure the bus was 2p in 1986?  I think it had risen to 20p by then.

I'd be happy if you and anyone else like you went and supported Barnsley. If you can't see that what is happening at Donny is for the good of the club and back the board in what clearly is a transitional period for us, then go and moan somewhere else.

The club ows you nothing. Your decision to support them, through good times and bad.

You must be forgetting that without JR and his money they wouldn't have been a team to support. How dare you question how JR is trying to run our football club after everything he has done for it.

I'll download the bus timetables for Barnsley and post then later. :byebye

Jeez, when did our supporters lose the ability to laugh our ourselves?

There are some people that take this \"sport\" far too seriously.

God!Those were the days,2p for a concession and 10p for adults. One of the best things the council has done subsidising the buses.A bit gaoling for those who wanted to travel further than Bawtry into Notts, the price went up over tenfold then. You could make dozens of trips in yorkshire for the same cost has 1 in Notts.

As do I PDX but it was given for a particular reason a few years ago and wouldn't be something I would just hand out or use again unless I had a good reason. JR doesn't need people on this board turning into stalkers. In JR I trust is all i'm saying.;)
