Decent half half...No Parkin = play football?
« on October 18, 2011, 07:57:28 pm by Red Rover »
Listened to the first half on Player (which is actually really good nowadays!) and with no Parkin up front, we arent just hoofing it forward, we seem to be playing the ball around and trying to create.

Do people think we should just send Parkin back after the Pompey game or does he offer us another option?

I think Parkin is done a disservice. He's good with the ball at his feet. Perhaps the Rovers players were not sticking to plan by lumping it up to him? Personally I think he's a positive player to have in your side to be brought out at the right moment or against the right team (ones with big defenders). But having said that, we have a capable target man in Brown don't we?

Has he not already gone back or is he injured - thought he would be on the bench at least if not injured and hadn't gone back

Don't think we've got much choice than to keep it on the ground... it's blowing a Hoolie there apparently.

I think we have to send Parkin back with Brown already on the books unless, Brown's going to be out longer than anticipated.

If we play a big fella, I'd favour the SOD method of playing them up against a full back (The Mark McCammon position) which Hayter often takes up, leaving Billy in the middle where he should be.
