Well done to the Deadman
« on November 01, 2011, 11:43:21 pm by Red Rover »
A referee using his brain for a change, I don't think they all would have done...

\"The action of revealing a message on a T-shirt is usually followed by a yellow card, so referee Darren Deadman was praised by the crowd for not applying the letter of the law on this occasion.\"

i understand that when taking a shirt off a yellow should be shown, (due to the fact some footballers cant dress themselves before the restart...or maybe in general) but why is a yellow needed for keeping the shirt on but revealing what is underneath it, seems silly to me, yet foul and abusive language often gets ignored.

After watching Mr Deadloss's performance last night whilst I would like to think he applied common sense when Billy lifted his shirt I am not convinced he actually saw it.
He missed so much else (unless of course it was a Boro player going down) and had a pretty poor game not helped by 2 totally inept assistants.

He did see it, then ran away quickly and stood facing the east stand.

Ah gotcha, given his performance though it could have been a valid question! Although he did play a great advantage for the equaliser.

I wish he had blown for the foul though!

Not one for normally remembering referee's, but as soon as I saw his name I knew we'd get nothing from him tonight.
Was amazed at one point he actually looked away from play as a Boro player threw Diouf to the floor.  Inept from Deadloss, hope he never graces our turf again!!

Respect for not giving Billy a yellow, but he was hopeless at everything else, as was the linesman on the east stand touchline. The score should have been 2-1, as it was 3-1 was flattering for Boro I think, and there should have been an offside and a goal kick before the peno was awarded - the ball was at least 3 feet over the line before Emnes crossed it back in!

He is truly an inept referee , I'm leaving it at that for now as I'm still seething over many of Deadlosses decisions.

I think the situation with the shirt coming off and not issuing a yellow is where any 'well done' to this bloke stops. Another utter b*llocks performance from another referee that comes down to the Keepmoat. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet but the penalty should never have been as the ball went out by a good yard before the foul was committed - and he was well placed enough to see it, if he wanted to.

Of course credit to him for doing the right thing but he didn't have to rely on making a decision on the hoof so to speak.  He knew before the game what Billy was going to do if he scored and why he was going to do it.  So I watched for his reaction and saw him fixedly walking back to the centre circle and avoiding 'seeing' the goal celebration.
Fair play to the guy but it really would have been a rick of the highest order for him to have done anything else.

You can see the ball clearly out of play on this still shot
