And this is the big problem, the fans have to do the thinking for the people that are paid to do the thinking and react accordingly, I just wonder what some of these people do when they are not updating DROS infrequently, they must have a lot of spare time to do the thinking in!

The Mail arent going to issue a rebuttal?? WM clearly went to them?! They didnt just make that all up, he's quoted all the way through it???? Ok journalistic license may have had some of the quotes out of context, which JR an be upset about if he wants, but surely he is better off concentrating his efforts on trying to control the PR coming out of the club before the horse has bolted, and that includes WM. The thing is I don't think WM will have got where he is today without some friends in high places in British media so is he going to listen to a word JR advises??

Who is the PR/Media Relations Manager/Director at Rovers?  If they have one, he/she/they should field all press enquiries, requests for interviews, write and issue press releases and chair press conferences.  They also need to prep Q&As for every eventuality for any given situation that comes up.

It's about time Rovers started doing things like this the right way, not this haphazard ad-hoc way which can cause confusion, misrepresentation and create more headaches than it answers questions.

If anyone needs media training.... Happy to help. Same goes for brand development.

That's the ideal in principle, in practice any journalist with someone's phone number is going to ring that person direct not go through a media manager? It then comes down to whether that person is going to say to the journalist 'Sorry you need to go through the media manager'. WM and JR don't strike me as the type of people that are ever going to do that? So the mixed messages continue.

They have been known to make quite a lot up, like the page on their website when they incorrectly reported Amanda Knox had lost her appeal and had \"quotes\" from various people involved.

The PR does need sorting out at the club though as there has been to much negative stories / quotes recently.

gartom  have you asked JR about ticket pricing

ie asking if by reducing prices that the attendance would go up therefore helping with matchday income and increasing the fan base?

Bedale,

We have asked for and been given the opportunity to contribute ideas to the club in relation to pricing. The club have finally woken up to considering the whole 'fan experience' issue and we are currently working out the most effective way of making our voice heard.

We can debate all day long whether the £27 price is right or fair, but it does appear that it generates more match day ticket revenue than much cheaper prices. That might not be the case if people had certainty over prices rather than never knowing what will be charged from game to game.

Have the existing players been fully briefed on this plan? and if so, do they support it?
Yes they are fully briefed, they understand – and they are fighting for their places!

'and they are fighting for their places' suggests the players don't support the strategy. Not good for team spirit and will ultimately cause the strategy to fail.

But shouldn't all players be fighting for their places regardless of the situation at the club? Should players just command a place in the first team just on reputation/current form? Sorry, but your point just doesn't add up for me.

Am I missing something!

How would you feel knowing that you are at best a Championship standard player waiting to be replaced by an import no matter how well you are playing? When these new players come in they will be put straight into the team regardless of how well the person they are replacing is playing. We are only bringing in superstars on this deal so the assumption is that they will obviously be better than the existing group of players so will automatically replace them. Or am I missing something?
