Barnsley game
« on December 21, 2011, 10:38:06 am by MrFrost »
Are the club doing anything to promote this? Reduced prices, local derby and a Christmas fixture. Chance to get a really decent crowd in. Will the club shoot itself in the foot again by having zero promotion?

No need to promote it, Barnsley will fill the ground anyway, won`t they?

I dont think its been updated for weeks, who's the woman on here who updates it?

If Rovers sell enough tickets then they can turn them down for the extra 1,000. Less away support the better.

I do think sometimes we give the opposition too much area in our stadium they should of built the stadium so that they get a corner like we always do at away games

It was a struggle to get a decent crowd for the Leeds game, it will be even more of a struggle for the Dingles game. I reckon 10500.

My point was, what are the club doing to market the fixture and the recduced prices. The answer would seem to be nothing as usual. 2Why reduce the prices, and then not do everything you can to make people aware of it and egt the fans in?

Depends on the next 2 results, if they are positive, coupled with some new faces being at the game I expect it to be higher. Let's go for at least 12k based on another 6 points gained before hand.

They should have done a big promo effort and done leaflet drops etc to promote it.

The trouble with the marketing department is basically they`re crap and lazy! if there`s no one on their case they`ll sit back and do very little, as soon as a fans group start making noises and drawing attention to their laziness they`ll shape up for a bit before dropping back into their bone idle ways. until the man at the top opens his eyes to this instead of berating the fans all the time, nothing will change! I`ve all but given up hope of marketing at the club improving while the present people in marketing are there, they are stealing wages!

Dave,

I have to disagree on a couple of points, I don't believe the Marketing team are lazy or stealing wages, they do a huge amount of work in conjunction with the community team to do all the school visits and a lot of of work with other community groups.

It's like the debate we had the other week about the media department, they are seriously underfunded and under resourced for a championship club. The area hat suffers is he tactical match day awareness and advertising, and whilst I think people know when matches are on, they can never be sure from week to week how Mapuche it will cost.

I  do have problems with the Commercial team, and 'him' at the top

How about giving back one of your two vsc \"hospitality\" boxes on the proviso they are rented out and all the monies from them go to the marketing department?

Surely better for the club?

I know we keep going over old ground with the club on these matters. Todays Free Press. Back Page advert for the Next Home Game, any mention of prices ? No

Inside in JR's article it is mentioned however yet again the top man couldn't resist having a dig. 'The 7000 who could be bothered to turn up....'

An obvious place to publish prices..outside the Keepmoat on the hoardings 'Next Home Match. Barnsley' followed by date and time and.....zippo.
