Forest fact
« on January 18, 2012, 11:11:34 pm by Chris Black come back »
Forest have scored in only one of their last eleven games. That is ELEVEN games. So in ten of their last eleven games they have drawn a total blank.

Is SOD the man to increase their strike rate?

Hope they don't come in for Billy Sharp! They have been known to throw money about.

Forest lost £11m last year and in total owe former chairman Nigel Doughty £75million.

They will not be paying good money for anyone, for a very considerable length of time.

I think we have to remember that (for now) Cotterill is still the manager, SOD will give him his opinion and it's up to Cotterill to accept it or not, I think between the two managers Forest could have one of the best partnerships, if it works out...

Is anyone else thinking along the same lines as me here? they'll have all the great things SO'D can bring to a football team - nice passing, attractive football in general - but also the one thing he always, always lacked - real bite - in Coterill.

Agreed, if this isn't a set up to replace Cotterill I can see this becoming a partnership rather than Manager and Coach...

Partnerships never work, sod has strong beliefs on the game, these aren't shared by cotterill they both won't be there next season. Only one of them will survive

Or maybe their conflicting interests will lead them to make a collective pigs ear of it, leading to them both being dismissed? :P

I think the deciding factor is who employed Sean, Steve Cotterill or the Forest board...

Dickos is right here. Partnerships of equals never work and even partnerships of a servant/master ultimately always fail (Clough/Taylor even). This will not function for any considerable length of time - particularly as SOD has a very specific way of playing that needs the buy in from the entire club. It genuinely is a philosophy. You can't enforce that as a first team coach. This will definitely end in tears for one of them.

An experiment just as interesting as ours, I reckon.
