Big figure. Forest through and through. He threw millions at the club.

You thought we were having a crap season? Forest couldn't get any worse now surely.

RIP, such a young age

Forest could be well and truly in the shite now, they will owe his estate £75M, unless he`s made provisions in his will

Such a shame. Gave a fortune to Forest, rumoured to be over £100m. A true fan.

thats just it though Rob - he hasn't \"given\" them anything yet ??

I believe they owe Nigel Doughtys estate approx 75 million - which they are charged interest on (sure I read that it was more than 5 million last year)

Now didn,t he resign as Chairman when McLaren left ?

Forest fans better start praying he made provision for them in his will ...

RIP

They were my thoughts.  Could be looking grim for Forest if not.

Well obviously he does n`t have a say in it now, but the executors of the will, will be legally charged with paying off outstanding debts and recovering money owed, before they can distribute his estate to any beneficiaries

As mentioned earlier, unless there is something specifically in the will taking the money he loaned to Forest oit of the estate (it was repayable loans if the internet info is true) then they will be paying inheritence tax on it - that will be £20 million.

This is really bad news for Football fans, its such a shame to hear the death of anyone in football and to lose such an illustrious character is a loss to not only Nottingham Forest but also football in general..

I think I understand John Ryan's comments 'being chairman should come with a health warning'.

RIP Nigel Doughty, my thoughts are with his family and freinds, and NFFC...

Presumably if he is married his estate will pass to his wife in which case there will be no IHT liability.

My very thoughts too. It's those left behind that feel the pain.
