Doncaster v Reading – Reading Chat
« on February 01, 2012, 10:04:05 am by daib0 »
A warm hello to all Donny fans… look, I’m not trying to in any way displace FuzzyDuck (who possesses special kinds of literary skills in a way that I don’t) so do please go ahead with your normal match thread, but just to let you know we’ve also prepared a full match presentation on the Doncaster v Reading game from our Reading forum, and the fullest respect shown with detailed information produced equally for both sets of fans – in fact rather more on Doncaster Rovers – and it would be interesting to have any feedback from you guys. It's here:

Match Thread: http://royalsrendezvous.co.uk/topic/9370950/1

Look forward to hearing any comments, like how you see the game going and thoughts on your own team, and any snippet back very much welcomed! User name and Viking Chat forum would always be cited for any small quote … and a reminder once more of a great article already done by the Viking Chat’s “Benaldo” … see here: http://royalsrendezvous.co.uk/topic/9365802/1

Personally I think you'll be heading back to Berkshire with nothing to show for your troubles...

...match off, frozen pitch, is my prediction.

Team News

Doncaster Rovers are back in home championship action on Saturday against Reading hoping to build on the point they gained at Hull City on Tuesday night.

Saunders is boosted by the news that El Hadji Diouf has signed a new deal with the club, keeping him at the Keepmoat until the end of the season. Rovers still have a number of players on the sidelines. Neil Sullivan, James Coppinger, George Friend, Pascal Chimbonda and Paul Keegan are out. James Chambers, Rachid Bouhenna and Chris Brown have returned to training but are still short of full fitness. Habib Beye is serving the second game of a three match suspension for his sending off at Bristol City.

Reading could hand a debut to Matthew Connolly who signed on loan from Queens Park Rangers in the week. They still have doubts over Jimmy Kebe, Mathieu Manset and Karl Shepherd through injury and Mikele Leigertwood will definitely be missing.

Vital Football - Donny

Its pretty cold tonight already, but the covers are on and have been so for days. The ref has said the game is ON assuming the frost doesnt penetrate overnight.

No confirmed time for a morning pitch inspection yet, but I cant imagine it will be too late given the distance the Royals fans are coming.

Reading v Doncaster Rovers confirmed after pitch inspection

DONCASTER Rovers have confirmed that the pitch has passed an inspection ahead of the clash against Reading FC on Saturday (3pm ko).

The pitch at the Keepmoat Stadium underwent a 2.30pm inspection today and no further inspection is currently planned for Saturday morning.

A statement from Doncaster read: \"After inspecting the pitch, the referee has stated that the game can go ahead tomorrow unless there is a severe frost overnight.\"

A decent first half in what is a very cold afternoon here at the keepmoat. Should be 2 or 3 up in all honesty but the Reading keeper as pulled off some blinding saves!

ha-ha, reminds of a Bill Shankly quote after losing 5-0:
\"We were all over them for the entire game, they just had 5 half-chances\"!!
