The 8 million wasn't just for the playing staff, but for ALL DRFC staff. So from players down to programme sellers.

Which is a presumption, the talk was of how we could reduce the player wage bill by getting these players through McKay in.
In any case even if it did mean everybody employed, the playing staff would still have an average wage of close to 5k. McKay stated in his interview when he joined that we have players on 7k a week and gates of 8000, which could never work.

It isn't a presumption, it's a fact.
Wilson won't have been on anything like 6k a week. That I am confident of.

Don't forget that Lalkovic and Parkin were funded by the loan striker appeal as we were not in a position to sign anyone at the time.

I very much doubt the gates are down on what the club expected, why do you think the season tickets and match day ticket prices are so high! to counter act the drop in support pal:dry:

I'm confident that as a senior member of a championship side he will of been on at least 5k a week.

I don't believe they would of anticipated such a big drop in season ticket sales, especially with the offers.

have a word with yourself dickos1  5 grand a week would mean wilson earnt 250 grand a year, that would mean we could only afford 16 senior players wages in our squad. we have a massive squad, chambers is only on 2k a week, this was reported in the donny star when he was been questioned by police after some incident. think logically before you post for goodness sake!

Me have a word with myself?? How does 250,000 x16 equate to 8 million?
We have players on 7k a week that has been reported, Wilson was highly thought of by sod and would of been on a very good contract.

\"Donny have players on £7000 a week and a core support of 10,000 nobody can sustain that\"
Willie McKay October 2011

sod did think of him highly, he was useful on the training ground and would only be used as a bit part player which both sod and wilson were happy with, there where many articles in the doncaster star about wilsons role at the club which also stated that he was on low wages (he does have a very sucessfull property investment business on the side too), but this hardly gave wilson the bargining chips to ask for 5k a week!!! \" \"

Look mate, we're arguing over something we will never find the answer to, it's pointless. You think he was on peanuts I think he was on a good wage. I'm happy for you to think what you think it's not gonna change my view. Let's leave it at that.

Willo would of been on around 3 k including bonus. There will only be a few players on plus 5 k here. Add in the fact they will all have a wage drop clause if we are to go down. Well they should have anyway. After all we have been the favs to go down every year. I will be very suprised if we go down that deano wont be able to keep the players he wants. I reckon J.R will try and get us back up. I hope.

there is no way on this earth that mr wilson was on anything more than 3k a week willie said we had \"players\" on 7k a week that could mean as little as 2. I believe that those were stock, coppinger, and sharp with billy being on the most. Players like JOC, spurr may have been on 5-6k

When Wilson signed the latest contract he was playing week in week out, and had other championship clubs after him. He could easily be on 5k a week.
But it's a pointless argument

I think the question really is, with the loss of TV revnue if we go down, plus the inevitable fall in attendances to around a probable 6000 average, can JR fund the shortfall on his own, and will he want to?

Are you sure Red?

I understand that a very highly paid left back has no such 'wage drop' clause at all in his contract. I expect him to leave before the start of next season.
