Thank you John Ryan

Jesus, after watching the QPR documentary we really don't know how lucky we are to have JR in charge of the club. What a bunch of shysters, hucksters and chancers run most football clubs. NEVER let anyone near the running of your club unless they are a fan themselves. Who the f**k does Briatore think he is criticising managers and players. The fat t**t doesn't have the a single clue, not a clue.

Long live JR!

I found it very comical at times but it does make you wonder how bad some clubs have it and how lucky we are to have probably one of the most popular Chairman in the Football League.

Today I was reading a paper on Governance and Accounting issues for Football Clubs (published in 1998) and although the main purpose of that paper was to discuss whether football players should be classed as tangible or intangible assets (old debate I know) it was recommending changes to many acts and laws to prevent football clubs from falling into the hands of the wrong people.

Of course back then there was no real \"alternate way\" of ownership, it looked at the example of Man United, where BSkyB owned 11.1% (after the failed takeover) the 'owning' company 13.4% and the rest was owned by many people (mostly fans) who owned 2% at most, but there was no director sitting on the board representing this 85%, and should a takeover arise, many small shareholders may be forced against their will to sell their shares.

The only exception at the time was Northampton Town, which was described in the paper as having a director on the board who was influenced by the local council to look out for the wider community. Of course this was the first type of Supporters Trust and the only real way to ensure that people like Flavio don't get their hands on their club is by fans supporting Supporters Trusts and Co-operatives such as the VSC to help gain as much an influence in the running of the club as possible.

Sousa (ex. Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Juventus, Inter Milan, 50 caps for Portugal): \"idiot\"

Magilton (nearly 600 League appearances and 50 caps for Northern Ireland): \"idiot\"

Dowie (ex. West Ham, Southampton and over 50 caps for Northern Ireland): \"idiot\"
