Honestly, what do people see in him?

Another 45 minutes of trotting about doing nothing again today, never try`s to go past a player, can`t tackle or won`t tackle, fails to pick up anyone when tracking back!

and then compare that to the work Fabian Robert put in on the other side, high energy, tackled and ran at defenders, no wonder Fabian was knackered at the end!

Genuinly forgot he played until this post! Did he get subbed at HT? I missed the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half and thought DS only made 2 subs.

Well, he was on the pitch for the first 45 minutes, trotting about, to state that he played is a bit over the top though!

Haha! Was certainly a non performance by him. Robert was best player on the pitch, lightweight but a very good attacking player, reminds me of Copps in his more youthful days. He strikes me as a player that couldn't care less who he's working for and how many fans he's playing in front of aslong as he's playing football.

He took a tablet half way through the first half. Wasn't fit imo and should never of played.

It must have been a sleeping tablet, going on his contribution!

Thought he showed a few nice touches early on but was very wasteful with the ball.  Left Friend far too isolated against their attack with the full back bombing forward.

Still has a lot to learn as DS has commented on previously but I  believe he is definately one of the players who we need to keep at the club.

I thought he put in a decent half. He passed well, created space, created chances. Yeah he gave the ball away a few times, but he didn't do that bad. Although personally, I think Bennett is the kind of player we should bring on in say the 65th minute, when we need a bit of pace to liven things up.

Please tell me you`re not talking about yesterday`s game, because I never saw him do any of the things highlighted in bold, in fact all he did was trott about finding space where he would n`t get hurt, if he wants to make it to the top he needs to man up big style!

I am talking about yesterday. I saw him put in some decent passes, creating space and creating a couple of chances. He wasn't the best player and like I said he lost the ball quite a few times. And as I said again, personally I wouldn't start him, I'd bring him on when we need to liven the game up.

He might need to man up, but do you not think that might be a managerial problem? He needs guidance and direction...

Not good enough at this level. Full stop, end of story.
Will he be good enough in League 1? Well, we only have a couple of months wait to find out

Not good enough at this level? Totally disagree! He needs good management. He's going to be one of those players we let slip through our system that go on to be a great player

I honestly think he is good enough at this level, he just needs the support and development. He's a fresh player that has masses of speed and skill, just needs to be shown how to direct it and use it properly.

I think he needs to change his attitude and realise he can`t just saunter through games, he needs to be able to take a bollocking without getting the bottom lip out and sulking

Sounds just like Barnes. Why on earth he was allowed to play 45 mins, never mind the full match, is beyond me? Laziest player I've ever seen pull on the hoops.

He needs to take a look at himself. Remember the last Billy Big b*llocks we had? He was going to be the best striker we had for years and look what happened to him.

The lad has ability but fails to be consistent for any length of time. His decision making is poor at times I.e doesn't know when to play the easy ball. He really looks like a lad who has failed to take on board any of the coaching offered and struggles with the responsibilities of both defending and attacking as required at this level.

He needs time to develope but can we afford to wait?

I genuniely think the guy is learning and he's only going to improve with games.  I don't think he's lazy I just think he doesn't know how to defend at all.

He frustrates the hell out of me because I really believe he will develop into a great player. At the moment as already mentioned his decision making is poor and too often he beats his man but instead of delivering the ball looks to beat another and loses the ball, then his head goes down and he switches off.
At other times we're crying out for him to run at the defence but he looks for the pass and we lose any momentum.

I've noticed that he's often looking at the bench for "guidance or direction". It's almost as if he's scared of making the wrong choice and getting a bollicking.

Maybe he needs to come off the bench and be allowed to play without fear to regain some confidence?
Still think he could come good though

From what I have seen off him so far this year he has the potential to be the next Michael McIndoe. He also has the potential to be the next Andy Watson. Unfortunately he is far closer to the later than the former. Where McIndoe excelled was his work off the ball and that is where Bennett is letting himself and the team down, he needs to change his attitude pretty sharpish or he will be off imo.

He isnt a CM, he is a winger, playing out of position aint the easiest job when you have spent all your life doing another job in the team.

He needs to build up with an extra couple of pounds to beef him up, He is a bit of a lightweight that gets knocked off the ball too easily. DS quotes (or should I say that he used to quote that) ' he will be a star talent'
