Why is everyone

worried for next season? We are a much bigger club than we were when we left league 1, weve had four years in championship of playing good football, buling a reputation and in distance of the playoffs on a couple occassions (Although some of that may have been hamperd with this past season) We arent a Scunthorpe who are a yoyo team, we should be looking to bounce back straight away. Next pre season when all the clubs are fighting for players and loan siginings and they have the chance to go to Carlisle, Bournemouth, Hartlepool, Tranmere, Notts county or Doncaster Rovers they will choose Rovers because we are a bigger club with a bigger reputation. We will only have to compete with Pompey, Cov, Wednesday and Huddersfield. Im not saying we are bigger than league 1 and we will bounce back straight away im saying I dont think we should be fearing relegation like i see most people are

Not so sure everyone is worried but there is an air of uncertainty regarding which players will still be here next season.

Who we will try to keep out of the players whoose contracts are up and do they want to stay

Who we need to offload that are in contract.

Who want to leave that are in contract.

Add that to the directors situation which DW and TB leaving.

It leaves me unsure what to expect for next season.

Yes a lot of players we have are good enough for League 1 but will they still be here?

A busy summer ahead i think and then we will have a better idea

I'm not worried, but those thinking it will be easy and we will be pushing to come straight back up are deluded.

I think worrying about a further relegation is realism, expecting promotion is delusion. This season has been such a capitulation that our current team would probably have struggled in League One this season.

There's not going to be too much money available next season, if the core of our squad hang tight then there will be very little extra cash to throw around at new players. If they leave, then a whole load of new players will have to be brought in, even the Wrexham fans stated that Saunders would try a whole host of players until he finds the right mix.

Coupled with the fact that Saunders is still an unknown quantity even to us, he could fail miserably.

I think the best we can hope to be is 'A Scunthorpe' at the moment, i'm not sure why you've defined them as a bad thing!

I'm more positive after the last three games where despite only getting a point we've done ok and could easily have picked up 5 from them.  Hopefully we'll get a decent side together and the little bits we're hearing are positive but words mean nothing.

I was pleased Saunders had no issue putting Husband in last night and he did well, would like to see more of him and see how he does.

If Saunders stays the old guard will go. We will then be relegated. Saunders out now!!!!

My only worry is the club's finances, and who's going to fund the losses without Bramall and Watson next season. If nobody's going to put money into the club then the expenses have to be slashed. And if the expenses are slashed to break even level that means we will be left with a very poor quality squad.

Even if John Ryan finds a willing investor, the wage bill still has to be cut to comply with the Football League's new rules next season. The better players will probably go elsewhere.

Someone's got to want the better players though and on current form there aren't many that will stay in this league. We got promoted as a team and we're getting relegated as individuals trying to get to a bigger club. If DS can get us playing as a team again next season then there's every hope we can do well, I can't judge the fella on this season's failure.

League1 is a tough league as many much bigger clubs have found out. Looking forward to it though!

The point about us being a bigger club now than when we were last at this level is probably true, although I dont think that is reflected in the crowds (I'd need to check, and there is also the KMS as a new ground factor).

However, I do take heart from the fact we absolutely mullered Tranmere in the cup at the start of the season, and they are currently 11th.

Looking forward to Baxendale coming back.

Good interview with the Cat and Penney on Player, on about team spirit etc. that's the way!  DP back in the background! Good planning! Cheered me up no end that has, everyone is older and wiser!

That was pre Saunders.  Maybe the Notts County cup game would give a better indication.
