Well why not leave the supporters club to do what they do (and they do it very well) and work with them.  I don't see what is gained by combining the two as both are working towards the same thing ultimately?

I still fully believe that membership of the VSC should be free.  I understand the need to have finances and I believe that bit should come second.  If the VSC wants to have a voice and use its members as a voice then why not make that completely free and have little extras where cash can be generated.  Perhaps differentiate between a member and a shareholder allowing those who wish to commit financially that opportunity but still allowing others a clear voice to be a member.  That allows the ability to have many more members and not have the finance aspect as an unwanted tag.

I fully believe the VSC can be a big voice, it is my opinion that it should be open as a free of charge entity to all this removes the stigma that has been a big issue for existing members such as myself and potential new members that it was turning into a club that wasn't about doing its best for the club but about some kind of status symbol.

I'm pleased with the replies I've received in this thread that the views are being listened to and now is as good a time as ever for healthy debate, but I firmly believe the future of the VSC should be something discussed between those who pay and those who do not wish to.  IF it's about having a voice then surely that is the best way forward?

I'm struggling to see what the incentives of the group are.  Don't get me wrong if I can see where it's heading my subs will certainly be paid once again,

See the current Aims and Objectives. The VSC board needs fans and members to help shape it's aims and objectives moving forward, as no doubt some things will change if the fans wish it. But it's only right that the members vote to provide the mandate for the VSC board to act on.

Baz is so right! We can only act on what our members tell us they want and need, within reason!

But over the course of the next few weeks you will start to see signs of some more projects we have been working on with the club, but it takes time effort and money to do all of these things. The club do listen, they do pay attention, but we need members, shares and influence to do this, without it we're just another crazy bunch of supporters who demand attention.

I can hardly wait to get my bacon or sausage sarnie at whatever activity is planned
