What Barnsley have sold 4000 Rovers season tickets - fantastic - they must really want to see good football next season instead of the crap they normally get dished up

Last year Hartlepool sold in excess of 4000. This year they are aiming for over 5000.
Their pricing is very simple, one price for adults and students anywhere in ground (£155 = £6.74 per game), £125 for oaps (£5.43 per game), £75 for under 19s (£3.26 per game) and £50 for under 13s (£2.17 per game).

As a further incentive, if they sell over 3000, all adults will be entered into a jackpot draw with prizes of £5, 3 and 2k.
Over 4000 - prizes of £10, 3 and 2k.
Over 5000 - prizes of £15, 3 and 2k.

No early bird deals here, the only date is after 31st July they won't be entered in the jackpot draw.

That puts us a little over 20% down on last year at the same point if anyone is interested. To be honest I'm surprised it's not a bigger drop with the way we've been performing, relegation, experiment etc etc.

Funny that, we recommended they simplify go with a one price deal with additional 'incentives' to purchase early.

Historically, sales after early bird deadlines are relatively poor so keeping the same price for people after they have had a rest and start thinking again about the new season after the fixtures are published, would have been advantageous.

I notice they have extended the club scout deal to the end of May. Big deal !!

So barely any increase? I'd be worried. Those who really wanted to have bought one will have probably done so by now. Can we realistically expect more than 3500?

Something like Hartlepool's offer would have been more popular.

Between 27th of April and 9th of May last year we only sold about 60 season tickets, we then went on to sell a further  2300 by the end of August, here's hoping for a similar % jump this year :)

My mate bought his West Brom season ticket yesterday. £349 for a seat behind the goal for Premier League football. I'm sure if you look around a lot of the other clubs higher up the leagues our prices do not seem such good value as the club would make you believe.  In balance though the price for the under 11s ticket is excellent and has to be the right way forward for the club to attract new supporters.

Lets just hope they get the matchday pricing right or there could be a lot of low attendances next season.  Although having charged what they have for season tickets, its going to be difficult without upsetting those season ticket holders.

I certainly did. The reason I haven't posted about it is because I didn't want flaming over it, but if people are interested I'll start a new thread for it. Is that OK?

For reference, last time in league 1 we had over 5000 at similar pricing.  What has caused the change then?  I get a feel a lot of fans seem to think we shouldn't be in league 1 and that it's a disaster etc etc.  What caused the change in our fans attitude?

Can't see us shifting anywhere near 5000. It's going to be horrible playing in that place in front of hardly any fans. The atmosphere is bad enough as it is.

I dont think the home crowds will differ much to this season. It will be the away following thats drops. Also throw a few wins in early doors and people will come to see a winning team. We have been losing most weeks now for 18 months. Fans have had enough,we need a feel good factor again.

I'm one of those who haven't renewed. Nothing to do with what league we'll be playing in, purely down to the fact that I haven't got £350 to splash out in one go and I ain't signing up to a loan agreement at 20% APR.
