Who do you least want to leave?

Simple question really, which 1 contacted player would you want to keep the most above everyone else? Just wondered if we can get a consensus on who we'd most like to keep.

I've deliberately left out all those who have signed this summer.

Copps for me. Immense and unplayable on his day, will surely rip league 1 to shreds!

James Husband?

Yeah, if you look I did say that I've deliberately not included players who have signed this summer. As he's literally just come into the team from the youth team, I'm classing him like that too.

The reason I've not included players who have recently signed is because there's not a realistic chance that they will leave. Whereas with all our old contracted players, there's a fair chance someone may come in for them.

Unlike the other youth players James signed last season, played in the first team and is IMHO one of our major assets. I believe he has a 3 year contract as opposed to the others who have just signed a one year deal.

He gets my vote

Bennett edges out Copps for my vote, purely because of his age and potential. We've got 8 brilliant years from Coppinger and he might not have too many years left to give at his current standard.

Friend for me. Fantastic defender, young and technically sound, and could be worth a lot if we have a good season and are challenging at the top this season. Same could also be said for Spurr.

It will be two or three of the high wage earners to leave. You can discount the injury prone players in Stock, M Woods, Martis and Brown. You can discount the goal keepers Sullivan and Woods. You can discount the young lads Bennett and Husband. So it's two or three from five for me, Spurr, Beye, Friend, O'Connor and Coppinger. Out of those five only Beye would not bother me if he left the other four will be hard to replace at our level.

Tough really. It'd be disappointing to see any of them go for varying reasons.

Probably Coppinger or Brown for me. Copps because it'd be gutting to see him call time on 8 years' service purely because of finances. And Brown because we've barely got any strikers on the books.

Friend I would be happy to leave - combination of people apparently willing to pay money for him (Boro, Leeds) and my belief that he isn't overly good. That said, he is 10,000 the player that sicknote Martis has proved to be. Ideally there would be a joint transfer to Leeds, for big money. That would piss them off.

In order of least wanting to leave:

1. Coppinger
2. Stock (his back hasn't been a problem for 12 months)
3. Brown
4. Spurr
5. Bennett

The rest can go, although Martis, both Woodses and Sullivan will be hard to shift.

I would love copps to stay, he's our best player and on his day he is unplayable, would rip league 1 to bits, I just can't help thinking though that whether copps wants to be here or not his hand will be forced to get him off the wage bill!! Really hope I'm wrong but can't see him staying!!

Tommy Spurr for me, would be a class act in League 1 and at only 24 still has plenty of years left.

.. George Friend a close second for the same reasons!

Obviously I would like Copps to stay as has been one of my faves for a while, but I can't see him staying.

Kyle Bennett for me closely followed by Tommy Spurr...........I would always want to keep Copps though even though that might not be possible.

I voted Copps but I wouldn't want to see any of them go apart from Martis Sullivan and Beye.

For some of them it will depend on what wage/length of contract they will be offered as a starting point. If thats agreeable to them then its down to how long we can hold out for a reasonable fee whilst losing time on the ability to get other payers in.

I reckon we'll take very early offers on at least two of them. Depends on the terms offered, but I think Copps, Bennett and Spurr most likely to go.

If DS had a choice I reckon Bennett (attitude), Sulli (can't be having 4 keepers), Martis (injury prone), Beye (loose cannon - untamable?) would be the ones, in that order.

I dunno, I think getting one full good season out of Friend, which we haven't really had yet, could mean his value skyrockets, both in terms of transfer fee and value to the club. I couldn't speak highly enough of him once he switched to centre back, by far our most consistent performer in that position over the last few years (although that isn't saying much).

Bristol Red, what is the problem with Bennetts attitude?
