He's surely going to score about 30 goals in Division 3 isn't he?

I think i'd score 30 goals in that division god knows how many he'll bag. Also, he's said he's a life long Rangers fan. Is that true? First i've heard of it

Given that he's a Protestant from Northern Ireland, I'd be surprised if he WASN'T a lifelong Rangers fan!

Weren't Rangers going to sign him from us in January, only for the deal to fall through because of their financial problems? As a result he stayed with his dad at Kilmarnock. Might have lost us a few bob.

I'm surprised at him taking such a drop down the leagues, but the way things are in Scottish football I wouldn't be surprised to see a big restructure and Rangers back in the top flight in 12 months' time.

Ahh fair enough, I stand corrected! First i've heard of it, shame if true as the extra pennies would of been a bonus. I think it's a typical move from Dean, think he'll enjoy being a big fish in a small pond. Maybe, it's a big year for Scottish football.

They'll be in Europe next season. Either win a cup or lose a final to Celtic.

Rangers being the biggest of fishes in a very small pond indeed, of course.  I think it's a good move for Shielsy; it's the club he supports, with a good chance to play in the Scots Prem again in a few years, or sooner if Premier B happens.

I think Dean has found his level. Really unimpressed with him for us. Scottish football is cack at the best of times. Clever move though he will score a few (as would Douglas Bader) then make a name for himself with the Ibrox faithful. In four years time Rangers will be back in the big time and he might be rewarded for his efforts with a lucrative contract

Dont think he has found his level - he is FAR too good to play Scottish Div 3 Football

Gretna joined the Scottish Div 3 having had to play in an English League which included Worksop Town (I think) so as that is the same Division Rangers are going in he is WELL BELOW where he should be playing

There's a sort of parallel between Gretna and Rangers in the 3rd Division up here . Gretna had money behind them and were able to recruit some ex SPL players on good wages and moved through the leagues at a canter . Rangers will do exactly the same and their presence in the lower leagues will help the smaller clubs financially . Sky TV deal just announced includes 5 live games from Div 3 . Most of the towns and villages in the Highlands have Rangers Supporters Clubs and surely these fans will fill the local grounds , Peterhead , Elgin etc .

The good thing to come out of this is that Rangers didn't get special treatment, plus as you say HR the smaller clubs will see some big paydays.

I may be wrong but I think they're suspended from Europe for a few years

You are correct, for the next three years I believe they cannot qualify for Europe.

he's got obvious skill, he's just too lightweight to ever make it south of the border without doing some serious beefing up

that double against Derby is something I'll always remember him for

RTID91 - I take it you never watched Dennis Souza, Ameoi, Streete play
