Has us in pole position to land Harper now after training with us participating in pre season

He's got tonnes of experience all of which was earned in the league above and the Premier League. I think on a free transfer he would be another very useful addition to the squad.

He is just one of the 3 players that Deano is looking at, there two others that sound like good prospects too.

I'm also wondering if these 3 players would be in addition to maybe Hawley & Morgan-Smith, as though I don't think either of those would be big players for us it is always useful to have bodies in.

My post was a little confusing, what I meant was that there are 3 players in the running for the midfielder berth and James Harper is one of those. There is also the goalkeeper situation to be resolved. Expect some news maybe as early as tomorrow.

Saw him against Gainsborough and he played as a holding midfielder, assured on the ball and a good talker. Can't see him starting but a decent addition to the squad.

Probably wouldn't offer Hawley or Morgan-Smith anything though.

No disrespect to our present incumbent but that's the bit of news I was hoping for.
