Greatest Number 9s
« on August 21, 2012, 04:26:00 pm by wardy16 »
A while ago I asked for help to select Doncaster Rovers' best number 9s, and I would like to thank you all again for your help!
The article which I have written on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK, the official Football League Charity, is now online. You can read it here - http://goo.gl/Od1My.
Prostate Cancer affects one in nine men, the partnership with the Football League should help raise awareness.
I would be grateful if you could help promote the site and my piece.

I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for reading.

A good read, and it'll certainly come up for discussion next time I'm down the pub!

Sadly I'm not old enough to remember most of them, Ian Duerden wasn't really a fixture when I started watching Rovers, with only Paul Barnes sticking in my mind. He almost single handedly got us promoted that year, and was probably the last great number 9 we had. Hard to believe that was almost a decade ago now.

Unfortunately I remember Guy Ipoua all too well, he certainly caught the eye although it was more for his considerable bulk than his footballing talent.
