They are a moaning set as clubs go Wednesday fans, but we can hardly talk we had a few years at championship level, and some supporters think we have a good given right to be back there,i hate to think if we ever got a taste of the Premier league then got relegated, how much griping we'd get on here, they are the worst for it in yorkshire, but most yorkshiremen love a moan,it's just the way we are,i don't see Dave Jones lasting much longer, the Wendies chairman loves a good axing, with the players they've got at the minute they are cast iron certainties for relegation,it's either bad signings, injuries or lack of support on the transfer front that's doing them, that's why i'm happy with Dean Saunders, there's a long way to go,but he has been very shrewd with what he's done so far.

If TRAX gave more time to Rovers I would definitely listen. I have quite a drive home and tune in to Radio Sheffield to listen for any Rovers fans to see if their views/ experiences match mine. I don't ring in because I am driving.
I'm fed up of listening to wednesday fans who don't even go to the game!

I bet they would love Jones and Spurr in their defence!

Good luck LINCrover go land yourself a job!

Got it in one LINC, people are far more likely to ring up to moan than to praise, and the media being what it is will always prefer to air negative shite than anything positive. Take any news programs, they only ever give any good news as a stupid little cute story at the end. They love it when there's a serial killer on the loose, or people are being flooded etc..

I dont agree Radio Sheffield always defend managers and activley seek the "stop moaning get behind your club" exhibitionist fan. Fanbase shouldnt dictate coverage either. The BBC is tasked with objectivley covering sport. They wouldnt cover the olympic marathon by ignoring the eithiopians running away with the race because few there can afford a tv.

Looking at all the championship results last night its more unpredicatable than ever. I said to my mate if he gave me a fiver of his own money to bet on a team to win it I'd just pocket the fiver its that tough! It doesn't help that probably ten teams can win it and probably twenty sets of fans think they should be in the premiership already.

Thought Jones came across quite well in the interview although its going to be hard for him to turn things round.

Unfortunately we'll only get a mention if someone supporting Rovers rings in! Interesting interview with David Jones though - good listening!

It was a good interview and imo if they take the decision to ''hound'' him out then it will confirm what I've always thought about Wendies............they are ALL mad.
As for us I would prefer it if we remained under the radar just for now . It's a long hard slog to the finishing line. Jeez wasn'tn it freezsing tonight or am I becoming old and nesh ?

Your just old and nesh

Agreed!!! :)

I agree DJ did come over well imo he's a good manager at a shite club that pretends to be massive:)

I was listening to Deedar before the game. Paul Walker mentioned Rovers and was asking for Rovers fans to ring in. However, when you get Fowl after Fowl ringing in with the same negative message, and being given loads of airtime, it must be offputting for any Rovers fan thinking of giving them a call.

Also doesn't help that when a Rovers fan did ring in after the game Walker couldn't get him off quickly enough.

As for Wednesday perhaps someone should remind them that their current season is panning out just like 2008/9 did for us so far- and tell them how it ended.

I did start a campaign at one time, ironically on the BBC Football Forum, to remove Sheffield from the scene and have a Radio station that covered S.Yorkshire teams, Barnsley, Rotherham and Rovers. Trax or whoever could do it and run a far better forum than Dee Dah ever does. I would steal Adam Oxley from them and have him as commentator and have them strictly rotated. What stops it all is the BBC having a deal with the Football league, much like our wonderful official site managers they are no good apart from for the biggest team in the area, ask Scunny or Grimsby fans under Humberside. If they were restricted to braodcasting just in Sheffield Walker et al wouldn't keep their jobs for long either and they don't deserve them to be honest with the lack of service to the wider community in S.Yorkshire.

Unfortunately RB (says laughing) I don't think they have that sort of fightback or quality in them despite being so MASSIVE.;)

I like the fact there would be support for Trax having more access to match-days, and potentially having a post-match forum style show.

Mr Mayfield is still yet to comment on this however, does anyone have an e-mail address for him? Or is it best to just PM him on here?

Agree with the Trax station but dont ban all wendies and blades
Lets have a little serious talk from BRIAN THE BLADE and MICK THE WENDIE just so the rest of us know how sensible we all are

A message has been sent to Retford Rover, lets see if there is any reply to that, not sure what would be another way to go about it if this fails.

If you can't get hold of him - he's on quite regular so I'd imagine you can - maybe email Trax direct?

I have tried that before for other things, and not a reply, will try and push it though if it is something that people think could have the legs as a decent show!

They are all idiots. Every player they signed has been a failure. Get Jones out. Get all the players out. Why didn't we sign Chris Wood? Why are Huddersfield doing better than us?

Why are we a club with a 40,000 capacity stadium and gates of 25,000 in a city of 500,000+ yet are still absolutely shocking?

I can only imagine 99% of their callers are Wednesday fans, would be interesting to find out the actual figures.

Lets be honest, how many Rovers fans are realistically going to be ringing up tonight, when we don't have a game. There will be 10/15/20x more Wednesday fans ringing up than any other club, therefore it must be assumed that the same percentages apply to the listeners.

Catering for the masses.

I often call in. Not called for a while now like. Been busy with work. Like someone has pointed out its the callers that set the show. More Rovers fans call then the more about us.
