MK Dons & VSC

The VSC programme notes for MD Dons:

The Viking Supporters Co-Operative Trust wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you are struggling for that last minute gift, why not give them a years membership to the VSC.

This is probably a good time to look back at the success the VSC has had over the last 12 months, and a look to the future. Its been an eventful calendar year, which has seen the organisation have 3 Chairman. However we now have for the first time in the organisation history a full complement of directors, which is extremely encouraging as people want to get more involved and take the Trust forward.

The main big success story has been Rovers take on the fans engagement programme, now more commonly known as In Rovers We Trust. The Co-Operative put Rovers in touch with the Country’s leading expect on Fan engagement, and the partnership between the VSC and DRFC is incredible strong. The VSC attend DRFC head of department meetings, and the VSC members views are put directly to the people that can make things change. This season as part of the In Rovers We Trust we have seen trials of cash turnstiles on match days, something never entertained in the past. We have even seen people been able to buy food without having to move out of their seat, and I don’t mean sending your mate down to queue up – the introduction of hawkers is still taking place. Still a lot to be done, but without a question of a doubt the matchday experience is improving. Yes we know the atmosphere needs to improve and we are on to that.

The Trust started the Tomorrow’s Rovers project, investing in the Rovers youth setup. To date, we have sponsored two teams and are always collecting money for that project. Visit our website, www.drfc-vsc.co.uk to donate. It gave all Rovers fans immense pride when the young lads took Crewe to penalties in the JPT Trophy at Gresty Road. With James Husband captaining the side and 3 youth ream players making their debuts, plus Liam Wakefield making his first start (he previously played against Hull earlier in the season as a sub)

Moving forward the Trust is bringing the Safe Standing Roadshow to the Keepmoat. As you will be aware, Rovers have put their weight behind the Safe Standing Campaign (www.safestandingroadshow.co.uk) We also have new members of the VSC who will be focusing on in future programme notes and on the VSC forum, but at the minute those players, sorry, members have a busy Christmas period.

The VSC works hard to be the critical friend to the club, helping the club improve and meet the expectations of supporters. If you have not already done so, please renew or join the VSC. Membership only costs £12 to join, and you can pay £1 a month. By becoming a member of the VSC you are part of an organisation that is a significant shareholder in the club. You forgot to include the final paragraph Nathan -

"And to all the visiting MK 'Dons' supporters, you are a stain on the people's game and we truly hope that your fake, manufactured, plastic, franchise of a club goes down the swanee as fast as humanly possible.

Merry Christmas from all at DRFC (founded 1879)"

Weren't other supporters accusing us of being FAKE and MANUFACTURED during the "experiment" of last season?

Neither do I, nor do I remember many/any fans criticising DRFC last season. And to draw a comparison between us and MK Dons would be unbelievable in its naivety.
