Their pitch is badly effected due to the bad weather, they haven't played a home game for weeks. Their owner Irving Weaver used to be on our board so looks like he's asked a favour.

Towns chairman Irving Weaver is apparantly pals with Terry Bramall. Think they've been buisness assocciates over the years. Bramall lives in Harrogate too.
Town are quite easy on the eye to watch, one to keep an eye out for would be Chib Chilaka, a bustling centre forward in the Akinfenwa (of 03/04) mould.

As long as you are giving us a couple of quid I don't mind, there again I will probably give you acouple of quid by coming down to watch

They relaid their pitch and sorted the slope in the summer and haven't made a good job of it according to a Harrogate Town supporting work collegue of mine.  It was in a shocking condition in September, never mind January.

Can only think the Bramall tie up means they're getting it cheap as they've played games at Railway previously and can't imagine that the couldn't borrow a ground from one of the non-league sides in the Leeds area which is much closer.

Harrogate are playing Corby in Donny as well, Saturday week;
http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/town-play-next-two-games-at-doncaster-19423/?

Looks like their pitch has had it, and they need some serious work to make it playable. They need to get games played to avoid a fixture pile up, and satisfy the league.
Too far to travel for a home game at their level though, they need to find friends closer to home, Farsley or somewhere a bus ride away.

Irving Weaver owns Strata homes which are based in the Lakeside. His son Simon manages Harrogate Town and us a former Rovers player.

Don't remember us ever having a director called Irving Weaver. Are you sure?

First game I played for Broddie 1st team back in the 70's was at Harrogate Railway centre half along-side Arthur Charlton if anybody knows him, all I can say is that was the worst pich I have ever played on, ankle deep in mud. Harrogates pitch must be an absolute quagmire if they have used Railways pitch instead of their own.

Interesting. Would make more sense if was a local team like Broddie or Armthorpe. I know Harrogate are quite a bit bigger but county ;)

Harrogate Town cant use Knaresborough Town or Railways ground as its they dont meet with Conference North standards. They tried to borrow Guisleys ground and a couple of others round Leeds, but problems came up over dates.
