Swap Cotts and Copps around and we're onto something. Would you play that team home and away though?

Only change I'd make to that is Spurr to left back and McCombe into the middle with Husband out. But either way it's a formidable line-up in this division.

Spurr and Jones is ideal as Spurr has pace.

Chris Brown doesn't deserve to be dropped. He was fantastic at Stevenage.

Same with Quinn.

Did you see Hume and Paynter v Blades ?

Best partnership seen since going to rovers for 30 plus years...

dont think he has "pace" as such, just a little faster than the other central defenders we have on our books.

BUT you didn't see Brown against Stevenage, so you can't really judge. Also I'd say our best front line for 30 years isn't this one..

He's going to be phenomenal Norfolk but right now, this weekend I'd prefer we went with Spurr at LB.

Hasn't Paynter still a match ban to sit out?

I prefer Spurr at CB over McCombe.  The latter is great in the air, but Spurr is a better footballer IMHO.  This means Husband can be LB, if fit.  McCombe on the bench.

2 of Syers/Keegan/Harper/M Woods when fit.  Happy to start with the first 2 at present.

Cotterill, Coppinger, Bennett on the bench.

Hume and Brown/Paynter.  Brown in now, as Paynter suspended, and Paynter will have to fight for his place.

I think we have enough in the squad to change how we play during a game, for example if Hume took a knock we could put Copps in that position with Bennett in midfield.

Would I pick the same team home and away?  Yes, I would.  We have a strong side in this division and we should play to our strengths.

I wonder if we will try and pass the ball under Flynn more and what formation he will adopt. Hopefully try and be flexible and not just go 4-4-2 all the time especially against teams that play 4-3-3 etc

Personally I thought we had been showing signs recently of becoming a better football side, certainly true against Blades and in patches in a few other games.
