Crofty.
Fair enough, but Reading's form over the last 18 or so games was a very rare event. 44 points from 18 games is a Herculean achievement.

And to put it in perspective, even if Yeovil managed to repeat that, they'd "only" have 89 points. If we just plod along at the rate we have done till now, we'd get 92 points.

And anyone below Yeovil would have to match that Reading performance just to hit mid-80s points total.

Realistically, the top 2 places are now going to be contested by the current top 6. And everyone below us and Tranmere have very little margin for error if they are going to get more than 85-86 points. We, on the other hand, can afford a blip and still be well on course for high-80s.

Button yer pockets down.

I agree Billy. But it's football and stranger things have happened. I do think we will win the league btw. On the beginning of Readings great form (about a year ago) I predicted in the championship form table they would win the league, and the current form table puts us at the top and I hope that is where we stay.

I don't even think Sheff U will make the play-offs, they are 2 more defeats away from relegation form!

Yes you do.

Is there a trophy of any sort for coming second in a league where there's promotion (and third, in League Two)? Or should I just ask a Hull fan :P

Seems you get a bus ride, a stand on the balcony and a licence to not mention the team that won

I know being promoted is something to be immensely proud of anyway but they make it sound as though they've won the f**king league in that

We just need to keep going.  Not been this excited about Rovers in years.  I still think Bournemouth are the team to worry about.  Eddie Howe has really got them going since he has been there.  Swindon and Brentford are too inconsistant for me.  Especially Swindon, they've given some poor teams a real hiding at home but they are poor away.

I'm still waiting for the wheels to fall off at Tranmere but it seems its not going to happen - and fair play to them for that.  Everyone has written them off.

A win for us on Saturday and we'll be in a fantastic position for promotion

We can talk about how many points so and so need and how many we need but this is football and it is so unpredictable. A betting man would tell you that looking at the past weeks results. All it takes is 2 or 3 losses in a row and we ll be right in that scrapping pack, I know that would be out of character with the rest of the season but it can happen. Just look at Manure last season, who would have expected them to falter like they did?

im just enjoying it while it lasts, wasnt expecting to be here hen sat at walsall in august but enjoying the ride so far. would take a major blip in form to not finish in top 2 or even be challenging in last game. promotion or play offs still a decent season. if play offs so what, 2 extra games to enjoy  ;)  :scarf:

I dont think I can cope with play-offs again.  I'm sure I aged 10 years in 90 minutes at the Leeds play-off final game

Thing about Bournemouth is, we've already got a big head start on them. We've now got 3 lots of 6 games to go. If we only get 3 wins a draw and 2 defeats from each of those, we'll be performing significantly below our season's form to date. But if we do that, Bournemouth would need to finish the season with 11 wins, 5 draws and 1 defeat to catch us. That would equal their BEST run of the season.

Not saying it can't happen, but it'll only happen if they continue their current exceptional form AND we dip significantly.

Fingers crossed they'll lose to MK on Saturday because that would almost put them out of the running.

BST,  have I ever told you how much I love you?

Let's keep this thing rolling forward,  lads and lasses. That's why the VSC exists,  that's why IRWT exists,  that's why things like Rob Jones Day or Fan Forums or STHs get 5 tickets free exist. Build on where we are and keep the momentum going in the right direction.  Don't let things slide. Together we can see this over the line.

Obviously the opening line of my post was written by the blonde with the beer and the pearl necklace on my avatar.

The rest was me. I'm still smoking this chuffing cigar too. Right,  which way to the nearest beach? I fancy a scrap.
