"We were poor today, second best allover the park and but for Flinders it could have been more. Donny weren't great and had we just shown a bit more endeavour we might have got something out of it. Too many players had an off day and the subs didn't inspire anything looking like a fightback.

Great support from our fans, you'd think Donny were mid table the way their fans were though. Top of the league and winning at home and not a peep from them, most of them walking away from the ground looking like their cat had been ran over. "

They were less than impressed with the pitch as well.

f**k me, if we weren't great, they must have been playing some Barca clones this season because we rather battered them.

Or, to put it another way, if we weren't great, they must have been Weaver/Bergara-esque, because they looked a good two divisions below us today.

That was a classic example of a promotion-bound side, full of pace, ability and confidence, knocking the living shite out of a relegation-bound side.

Having read through their recent threads I really do hope that the Pool stay up, they're the first lot of fans that havn't completely slagged us off and come out with the usual  ....... "we should be beating teams like that"

They were gracious in defeat and seemed like a decent set of fans so good luck to them    :scarf:

Got talking to a couple of their fans on the way to the match. Pissed as arseholes, both of them. Looked like what my grandad would have called a pair o waaarm buggers (ie, trouble).

They were grand. Out for a day out, a wee swallie, a craic and a match. Nae bother at all.

Mind, I suspect they'd took one look at me and decided, shit-faced as they were, that they'd best behave or they'd get a good hiding.

Aye,  Denaby 's answer to Jason Statham is a formidable thought.

The pitch was shit and of course it is to their advantage that they play on it every other week. Unfortunately it is also to their advantage that they are simply a better side than us.

Haha.  He's got Jason Statham's haircut on top, I'll give him that.

No mention on there of the Hartlepool players unsporting behaviour, when I think it was Cotterill put the ball out when Copps had taken a knock on the head and they did n`t give us possession of the ball back!
