Hi oslorovers,

Thanks for the comments, as much as we would love too be able to post photos on the forum due to safeguarding children we are unable to this at the present time. Please keep an eye on future updates for further information.
(as you can appreciate we need parental/guardian/carers permission to be able to publicise any photos of child(ren) on any public websites).
Many thanks

Hi oslorovers,

Put photos up Of an empty creche

Understand the restrictions with photos Of kids etc etc.

But if parents can see pics Of yer creche all beit an empty or kidless creche,it might Help with parents in two minds

Hi! Used the creche today for my little ones, and they loved it! We were going to have to miss todays game as i had no grandparents available for babysitting duty, but i saw this thread yesterday and gave katie a call. We got to watch the game, and the kids got to do loads of activities and came away happy and asking to go back again! I think its a great idea and will be using this facililty in the near future.....and im soooooo glad i didnt miss todays game!

Good stuff.  A creche for the little ones is a great scheme.

Oslo's idea is good.  Get some photos up of the empty creche, and some lists of activities.

Has there been any mention on DROS? Can't say I've seen anything on the official site since just before Xmas.

For me it needs highlighting constantly. A brilliant service

I am a little confused with this idea TBH, obvs its had uptake so I may be the only one, but rather then taking a child to a creche at the football, how about taking them into the ground to watch the football?? Just seems a bit odd to me IMO :chair:

It's more for people whose children perhaps don't want to watch the football/aren't old enough to appreciate it etc. so that those parents can go instead of having to stay home because they don't have a sitter. Seems a win-win solution for everyone to me. Glad it's proven popular so far, and hope it becomes a fixture at all games from here on out.

You've never taken a 3 year old to a footy match have you :)

I have actually taken both of my daughters to the Rovers since they were babies! Fair enough they may not have fully appreciated the games when they were little and have not been to every game but their fair share, but they have been brought up with it and love going to the Rovers, fair enough when they were tiny the main attraction in going was to see the 'dancing girls' before kick off and at half time lol!! :).

However, they love going, are both Junior Rovers, both have season tickets, and were both mascots in January! I would much rather my kids enjoy the experience of going to see their local football club rather than just stuck in a creche! Just my opinion though!

I think for some of our adult supporters that's one of the main motivations a lot of the time :P

Well!.....rtid88...you are lucky that your girls enjoy the experience. I have also took my 6 year old twins regular since they were tiny...however they continue to highly dislike going. I continue to try....but no...and i cant force them to like it can i? Both myself and my sister we're brought up with football, i loved it, and she hated it, and thats how its always been...no matter how many times she was "dragged" along.  As for being "stuck" in a creche...they loved it...asked to go back, but then i was a stay at home mum until they we're 3 so they never had the novelty of daycare/nursery. So i for one will be using this facility again  :) dont get me wrong, i will keep taking them to some games...but preferably when it isnt as cold for them....fingers crossed they will one day see the error of their ways

Then I stand corrected Amanda, sounds like for you it is ideal, your kids are happy and you get to see the mighty Rovers!! :)

My main concern with it is that I just hate the thought of this sort of service being used by people to just fob their kids off on someone so they can go and enjoy themselves and have a pint or two, while their kids are stuck in a creche (which some are 5 days a week), rather then the Dad/Mum trying to share the experience of going to the football with their kids.
